What I like about Mini Central Hotel? 1. Help Desk officer's help. Terry, who manned the help desk when I arrived was very helpful in arranging my arrival. I was supposed to check-in at 2 PM, but he allowed me to check-in earlier. For me, it was a great courtesy in the middle of the cold HK society. My commendation goes to Terry. 2. Location This hotel is just about 15 minutes walk from the Peak Tram. The Lower Albert Road (which you should use when going there from the hotel) is well watched.
all reviews » The location was fairly convenient, once you get there. It's located up a steep hill, so when first arriving via Hong Kong Airport Express with your luggage, it's probably best to take a taxi from Hong Kong Station. It's located just off of LKF, a busy area for expats and partying. The rooms stay true to the hotel's name and are mini in size. It works if you're looking for a value hotel at a convenient location. Staff are pretty helpful. Due to the rooms being so small, I actually was not expec. Loves the location: close to everything : mtr, peak tram, shops, restaurants, night life, ferry pears, mid level escalator etc.. Helpfull staff, fast check in and out, clean and new room :) Perfect size for a solo female traveler in my size. The room I had was on 11th floor (my advice to request for a room on a higher floor ..to get away from noises from the street). If you are travelling with big luggageg grab a cab (just +/-hkd25 from/to Hongkong mtr Airport Express to/from the Hotel ) becaus. Everything! The room was really tiny, but as a solotraveller that totally fine! I stayed in a doubleroom with a view and loved it. And I saw people complaining about not changing the bedsheets but they had a note saying that if you want them to change the sheets you put this note on your pillow and the cleaners will change it for you. They do this 'cause of environment reasons so stop complaining and be more observant instead! I had a great trip and I think the hotel was a great part of it. Amazing location. Walking distance to everything! Clean rooms (some minor spots in the bathroom could use some more work). Great staff - most speak English very well. Rooms are very small - as advertised. Imagine a double bed with two feet of space on the end and side. We were ok with two people because we didn't spend much time there. So not a problem - just an observation. Really good location close to Central and soho, a lot of bars, restaurants and art galleries around, nice minimalistic design, good furniture, good city view trough transparent bath-room and toilet (really funny design feature especially suitable for young couples), stable and fast wi-fi connection, pretty clear owing to every day housekeeping, proffessional and neat staff. The location was amazing, next to the Pub Street so going out in the evening was very convenient. The room is really small, reminded us of a caravan but very practical and well planned. Sound isolation is very bad - you can hear everything from next rooms. Glass wall between room and bathroom doesn't have curtain. Please learn the way from MTR to hotel - it's quite difficult to find it. N/A. The bed was too small for my 6'4" boyfriend, he kicked the walls every night. Note that the ensuite wall is made of glass, so you can see each other go to the bathroom. And there's no laundrette nearby, although there are dry cleaners. One has to go a bit uphill to reach this hotel. Since it is near the Lan Kwai Fong area, some noisy partygoers could also stay in this hotel. The shower and toilet have see-through glass, so hope you are close with your partner!. The hot water in the shower was a little bit intermittent but not a dealbreaker. When they say mini, they mean it. The room, including bathroom, was the size of two double beds laid end-to-end. No wardrobe, just hooks on the back of the door. I didn't mind the size or sparse facilities but it might get tedious if you were staying for more than a few days. the towels, this are hand towels and not shower towels. Pretty pathetic. and the noise. the first night I must had a group of people having fun until 4am. Good for them, but bad for me as I had to work. But I understand that this is not a business hotel. The rooms are very small which we liked, but the ventilation wasnt great. After my boyfriend had a shower, our room was damp all day and night. room is very small but great for one person! internet not the fastest but then again was good enough. Nothing. Loved everything!. As has been previously pointed out there is no convenience store nearby but as 'regulars' we know to bring sachets of coffee and a snack for breakfast. No breakfast facilities and none nearby(No 7 11 etc) Mini fridge would be nice When you sit up in bed the edge of the shelf above is uncomfortable if you lean back. Rooms are a tad too small for travelers more than one. Only the size of the room: it was a little bit small, but I stayed there only for 2 nights and was ok with that. The bed was a bit small even tho it's a double bed size. The bathroom use a see-through glass so it won't be too favorable for group traveler. Close to night life and taxies means significant noise on weekend nights. Quite a bit uphill, can be a problem for people with larger bags. They tried to sell me electric adapter for my laptop when I was needed it. :-D. Thin walls, so can be a bit noisy. Furthermore, even with the aircon off, I could still clearly hear it humming at night. But these are the only negative things. And yes, the rooms are 'mini', but that didn't bother me at all (certainly not considering the location and the price). Walls are made of paper. You hear everything not only from the next room, but from 2-3 rooms as well. I banged the wall to make the neighbour lower volume. Doorshut, baggage opening, speaking, virtually everything is heard loud and clear. Printing at the desk is 40HKD/page. Wtf?. The room too small for two. Probably the smallest room we've ever stayed. Rooms are a bit small but it's Hong Kong. Still a great value! If you want a bigger room stay in the Causway Bay location. I stayed only 1 night, so I cannot actually find any fault. size of the room is really "mini" but enough. The walls are very thin, we could hear everything that happened in the next door rooms and corridor. Our toilet, while kept clean, was smelly (old plumbing?). The bed was very hard. Air con was difficult to regulate so was a bit uncomfortable in the room. Naked shower room not a good time for sharing a room with your friend. Bed is too small for two persons. - a bit difficult to catch a taxi in the morning on the busy street - lack of internet access available via hotel's computer (I didn't travel with my own laptop this time). Nothing. The see through glass shower and toilet partitions. The room was only 7m2 and while being in the toilet area you could pat the person you shared the bed with on the head. Only long standing relationships could withstand this kind of intimacy. The size of the room and lack of mini fridge.
