The apartment complex is fairly new. We stayed for 8 nights in October/November 2013. The facilities in the apartment suite we were upgraded to, had bedroom, decent walk in shower room, lounge dining kitchen area. Space was efficiently used, with plenty of cupboards, good kitchen utensils, gas oven/cooker, dishwasher, and separate washing machine area in cupboard to reduce noise. decor was modern. A small outside sitting area on the balcony was great too. Unfortunately the weather was unseasona.
all reviews » I liked my whole stay at Mint, all of one night, not nearly long enough. Wished I could have stayed much longer. The place is impeccable we were in a 2 bedroom unit on the 7th floor, ensuit in master plus another full bathroom.this apartment is fully modern with all new appliances. The car park may be a bit steep at $20 per night but it is very secure and clean, no rubbish in sight, and spotless, I'm not joking, you could almost eat off the car park floor, it's that clean, polished and shiny. I. Room was modern, clean and presented beautifully. The decore was awesome. A little quirky even! Hotel was in a good location. A little out of the city but access to a tram was pretty much at the door. Parking was secure and easy - for $20 a night you'd want it to be! Staff were friendly. There was a dishwasher in the room :) All in all I would recommend to friends and family and would stay there again. I loved that the staff were so approachable, they also made me feel very welcome and I was able to get into my room at 11 am. They were not too far from the cbd, but some people wouldn't have walked it, there is a tram right outside. All staff lovely especially Kimberly who listen very patiently to me about the dump I had stayed at the night before, thank you so much. Very clean, very comfortable. Good location, lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. A bit far from the city centre, mostly because of construction that disrupted the tram routes, and required a walk of about 600 meters to continue your journey to the city centre. No big deal, unless travelling with 20 kg of luggage you didn't plan to carry for 600 meters. I would like to thank the two lovely young receptionists who helped solve my transport problem when i was stuck in the city and no taxi's available and also later, for stepping in to the road in the rain to hail a taxi for me to get to the airport. Very friendly and helpful at a time that I was stressing that I might miss my flight back to Sydney. Excellent room, had a nice stay! Staff were good and the room was excellent standard! Couldn't get late check out till 2pm which was the only downfall and had to pay 20 dollars to extend one hour till twelve am! I liked how spacious it was and how well presented the rooms were. It was an easy place to live for our few days in Melbourne. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room cleaning was late afternoon, which for us was inconvenient when just coming back from CBD. It was only a minor point though. The complex has unpainted ceilings, which did not appeal to us. An explanation was provide as an Safety feature in case of fire. It's to us a shame as the rest was nicely decorated. But again these are minor observations. Our room 1206 was located facing SW, so we could just see Albert Park. The sun however did not often shine on the balcony at this time of year. First arrival is a bit confusing with no driveway out front, you have to be lucky enough to get a park out front, go check in, then go and park you car round back, in the very clean car park. That is the only negative thing I can think of. There were a couple of things that stood out and didn't really match the level of the room. ** For 1 the tea-towel and dish washing liquid supplied was just sitting on the floor, next the bin. ** The hair dryer supplied was simply wedged in between the wall and the disabled railing that went around the toilet. Nothing wrong with these to items. Just that they stood out as odd - not matching the sleekness of the room. The restaurant was not open on Good Friday (it was connected but separate bussiness), so ended up having to go to local shop. The place was a bit cold, not in temperature, but in overall welcoming and decor, both the building and the staff. Paying extra for late checkout. Parking on site a bit expensive, but they do offer specials with some of their packages. The cost of accommodation parking in Melbourne is ridiculous, almost a deterrent to staying in town. Room service food is from an outside company and is terrible!. I found the bedroom airless at night as I didnt want to turn on the air conditioner because of the noise of the unit. The air was either hot or cold and blew directly down on the bed. I opened a window but there was a party going on in a floor below that seemed to start at about 3 in the morning that disturbed my sleep. I think that guests should be warned about disturbing the sleep of otherts and loud gatherings should not be permitted. Two complaints: the internet was incredibly slow. The bathroom sink is so small and shallow that just running water to brush teeth causes splatter everywhere (no matter how careful you are). An otherwise great place. The split A/C position meant cool air blowing on you when seated at the desk. Bottled water could have been included in room rate rather than extra charge. The separately leased restaurant did notallow room charge which could be inconvenient and put me off using the restaurant. very dark room, not much natural light, found the room rather stuffy at times but could not open the door for long because of the noise level from outside. The mini-clean whereby the room is not fully serviced for the first 3 days of the stay is questionable - not emptying the rubbish bins or taking bottles/newspapers away is a bad look. 10Am checkout a little early for me. We stayed for 2 nights & when the room was serviced the tea/ coffee was not replenished adequately. Everything was wonderful. This time we stayed it was very quiet in the hotel, it would have been nice to have been upgraded as a reward for our continuos patronage. What is it with the movie based decor? The prints on the walls look like they are straight from K-Mart. 1. The reception's attitude was bloody bad, never look at me when she talked, cool and impolite. 2. the free wifi never worked during our stay as the reception said "our wifi code printer was collapsed", for 2 days! 3. we had extra bed order, however, the time we ask for bed setting of the extra one, we only get the bed "stand" to the door of our room - we need to set up the extra by ourselves! 4. again, the reception's attitude was too bad, that we don't even want to talk to her... That the "double bed" was actually two singles pushed together. The batteries in the tv remote were flat and there was a bit of dust on the bedside tables. Bare cement ceiling and industrial type lights a bit strange. concrete ceilings, looked like it was unfinished expecially with the beautiful decor it just did not go together. the breakfast included turned us off a bit about returning. Room configuration of one bedroom apartment very odd. Have stayed in a studio apartment here and it has a better layout. Two of us staying but often only supplied with one clean towel or one face cloth. Mentioned this to cleaning staff but still no change. Doesnt have a swimming pool! No automatic on site parking. Could hear the neighbours when they were on balcony, but only for short periods of time. Outlook of rooms but airy and could open door to balcony.Bit dark because of this. Nothing. The only thing I did not like was the smell that came from the refuge cubboard and the noise from the fridge kept me awake. I found I had to turn it off at the main in the end. nothing. I was not pleased with the parking in the area or hotel rate to park my vehicle. The shower leaked out onto the floor through the door, it is a bad fit . This stay we heard doors and cabinets closing a lot, but very rarely any voices. Some find the light from the air conditioner unit to be bothersome at night - you can't turn it off. Nothing. The servicing of the apartment was erratic and could of been handled better. Being charged for Internet at a very high rate was disappointing particularly as penalised for booking through letsbookhotel.com Reality if requiring Internet add $20 per day on room rate. no complaints. Nothing. Only a single face washer, lacking in little extra's like shower cap, moisturiser, but these things are only small inconveniences. Studio apartment a little small, which made cooking a bit tricky. Nothing. desk space is too small. -Took a litle while to figure out the tv but eventually got the hang of it. The 'king size' bed was in fact two single beds that could seperate. My partner and I both experienced poor sleep. The air con unit is directly over one side of the bed - it was hot so air con was necessary but the location meant it was intolerable to one of us overnight. No view and it was dark. Wasn't very inviting to go onto the balcony. The room was on a side road facing another building. .. But then I did ask for a quiet room.
