The apartment had everything necessary for our stay in Hobart. it was spacious and comfortable, in a good position for walking around the Harbour and Central city areas. The staff were very helpful and polite, Convenient guest lounge through the day supplied good coffee. Breakfast was nothing special, but there are many excellent small restaurants open around the harbour. Would recommend highly,and would stay there again.

We booked an apartment at the Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel because (a) it was very central to everything, (b) because we grew up on Vic. sheep properties in the 1940-60s and farmed sheep with Tasmanian bloodlines for wool ourselves and (c) because letsbookhotel.com offered great book-ahead specials. This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed at. The staff and very professional, helpful and friendly. The rooms ( I stayed in a studio apartment this time around) are well appointed, comfortable and clean. Location is ideal as it is within walking distance of most of Hobart's City Sights. This is the hotel I have recommended to my family and friends when they visit Hobart. The location is great. Staff were very friendly and helpfully. We were very kindly upgraded to a one bedroom apartment from a studio apartment, which was a lovely unexpected surprise. The paintings in our room were lovely and they were of Tasmanian icons. Always a great hotel to stay at for proximity and general comfort and facilities. I stayed in spa studio apartment on 10th floor which was superbly comfortable. Hotel employee stocking minibar went out of her way to source me a different bottle of wine. The suite space was large and appliances if required seemed in good order. It was a very clean well serviced suite. Toiletries were very good. I would have been happy if this suite was rated only 3 star. Cost for the suite was reasonable. The hotel's proximity to all tourist attractions and the cbd was very convenient for walking. Hotel bar area is very comfortable. Our apartment was well fitted out and very clean. This is very disappointing as a 4star The 1995 fit-out was low budget definitely not a 4star. Bathroom fan was extremely noisy and always came on with the light. The common lounge area was very low standard. We didn't try the restaurant. Our room views were of the back of a building. Although the floor plan of the one bedroom apartments show a bath some apartments have a mountain view in lieu of bath so you need to decide which is your priority. Bathroom too utilitarian and shower pressure dreadful! In the morning we had breakfast and a member of staff with a very strident, loud, "strine" voice was in full flight, swearing as she shared an anecdote. It was jarring, and i felt a terrible display for guests at what is meant to be a pleasant part of the day. sometimes hard to find a carpark in the evenings. There wasnt anything.It ticked all boxes for a weekend in Hobart. Nothing to complain about!. Not much of a view and some noise from upstairs apartment on the Saturday night. The interior of the rooms could do with a renfresh, they're quite dated and tired. Pillows were dreadful. Nothing really!. Nothing. Bed was a bit hard but that is all. Our bed was very 'hard' but did improve after a doona was put over the mattress and under the bottom sheet. On a very noisy road. No view other than the back of another hotel. Balcony door and windows rattled in the wind, disturbing our sleep. Need a full length mirror. Upstairs neighbours were very noisy at night. Could hear them walking around and closing doors late into the night. Sounded like they were moving furniture at midnight!. All very good. Nothing - all fine. Have stayed in hotels extensively throughout Australia & overseas and this is good as it gets. Should have booked there the first two nights in Hobart. There was no electric blanket on the bed, although one was available from reception. It would have been nice to know/or be told of this when we checked in. the wind howls down the hall way you wake in the night to it .I had to put a towel under the door . I didn't like the position of the bathroom light switch, I really think it should be inside the door entrance to the bathroom as they always are. We just left the light on and closed the door, instead of trying to feel around in the dark for it. I feel from what I am hearing from friends that there is much better and cheaper accommodation in the same area. Small Balcony. Only a small window in room, felt in-closed. The restaurant meal was not value for money, I hate paying a lot and you get nothing on your plate. Wished we ate at the bar. The restaurant was freezing, we just wanted to eat and go. Lack of food shops within easy reach. Uncomfortable bed. Parking was full in both car parks. Breakfast was very 'ordinary'. Absolutely nothing we didn't like about The Old Woolstore!. Dryer was not working during our stay. My husband is a carpenter and we hoped we had booked into a room in the lovely old woolstore conversion .but we were put in the new attached 10 storey apartment part of the hotel. It was disappointing that we did not know about this part of the hotel, not seen on your website!! We could have stayed in any other hotel in Hobart to get a similar room. Absolutely nothing!. Only issue was staying on the bottom floor, there was some noise coming from above. Would book same room again only on the next level up.
