I had a king room with an ocean view and I have to say I very much enjoyed my stay here. It was spotless, cleaned every day and the towels were changed as needed. I love how when you open the balcony door, the a/c turns off automatically - good way to be more eco-friendly. The view was fantastic! Note though that as with any vantage point in the Gold Coast, most of it is sometimes blocked by tall buildings - I could see the beach but of course there were a lot of buildings around (but not a pro.
all reviews » The staff were so very helpful, I called the day before to see if I could check in early as we had a wedding to attend and didn't want to be rushed to get ready, they said it shouldn't be a problem and sure enough when wee arrived there was a room ready for us a few hours earlier then the checkin time. We also able to extend the checkout time to 11 am which made getting out after a party night that much less stressful. The lobby is grand, spacious and clean. The location is near to the beach as well as shops and restaurants. The room is beautiful and clean with a balcony, but what we didn't like is that our room is arranged at a low floor. The entire experience can be made better if the hotel can add bedroom slippers and bath robes in the room. Nonetheless, I am glad I have stayed in this hotel. Friendly check in staff, room was clean and had a good view of the beach and u could see over the whole coast area to the mountains . Excellent location close to beach, shops, cavil ave , easy and cheap parking . Friendly house keepers, breakfast was included and lots of variety , definitely value for money , will be back again. We had the buffet breakfast and it wasn't the best spread ever but it was still very good, eggs, omelet station, dumplings, fruit etc etc lots of choices. The hotel is near enough to the main centre of Surfers Paradise but far enough away to keep the noise at bay. Also, free bedroom slippers perhaps? :). Getting to and from the car parking facilities, just took a long time for the lifts to go up and down.. A staff at the reception was very arrogant, rude and impatient when we asked him about the charges of the wifi and if its dual-friendly. Unfortunately, the chargable wifi is only available to one person per device, which is not convenient to both of us who would like to use the internet concurrently. Nothing all was great. No negative points!. When i stayed at the hotel, there are too many schoolies and it's a bit noisy in the hallway. The walls needed a wipe down. My only complaint!. Not much although the missing tiles in the pool were sharp on soft feet. To be fair it's a big pool to empty for a few tile repairs. We couldn't fault Outrigger Surfers Paradise, we will soon be making our booking for our next stay. Nothing. Parts of the hotel were a bit tired and dated. There were moments where you could smell wafts of old cigarette smoke in the walls and carpets. There should also be free wi-fi available without charging. It was a long wait in line to check in and out duet only to staff and lots of people at the counter... 20 minute wait...way too long. A/C in public areas too cold. Bar/café serving coffee etc. on Saturday morning while attending seminar was not attended initially which made it difficult for everyone to be served. Nothing overall to dislike. Rooms are quite small Lots of road works and construction was taking place therefore the views wernt as nice as they would be in maybe a year from now :). Due to having a young child we spent a fair amount of time at the pool area, which was in desperate need of some maintenance. There were big patches of tiles missing from the floor of the pool and there was quite alot of grime around the waters edge of the pool. Patience is necessary when checkin in. Had to change rooms because of empty batteries in door lock. Twice our access cards were replaced because they did not work. With breakfast they require you to wait for a staff member to seat you, after waiting a few minutes we decided to walk in anyway. We felt that the car park was inconvenient and we were disappointed we had to pay to use it. We also felt the breakfast was a bit too expensive. The price was above our budget, and although we have stayed at this hotel for many years, it would deter us from returning. Maid just threw towels in the bathroom didnt come to do up our room because she advised she was in a rush. waste bin in bathroom had not been emptied from previous guests. House keeping knocked briefly then opened the door next morning while we were still in bed. $1 charge found on my credit card as a fee with out me being informed about this. My credit card being debited for second night's fee with out my permission hence the up grade which helped. Spar near pool not working properly. We couldn't stay longer!. We arrived in our room and there was dirty tissues underneath one of the beds. When the room was serviced the toiletries were not replaced so there was no new bath gel,shampoo,conditioner and soaps. Would like to have fresh ones as the first night it was finished considering the size of the bottles. The shower head did not stay so we had to use some towels to hold down. There was some mould on edge of shower. I prefer two towels each so I can dry hair. Finding the hotel reception from the car park was quite confusing and there were steps which made getting back and forth with a heavy suitcase quite difficult. The TV was difficult to navigate for those of us unversed with the technology!. The room lacked a proper "kitchenette", no plates or cutlery or microwave to heat up take-away food! No toaster to make toast with, sink was tiny and situated near TV! Had to pay for car park! Hotel patrons should not have to pay extra for parking their car. I have never had that happen in other hotels or motels I have stayed in, should be included in charge for room. Our aircon didn't seem to be working properly but I didn't bother complaining as there was a nice breeze from outside. The balcony was a little small but still big enough for 2 people to sit comfortably. There was no minibar in the room fridge and then if you wanted to order a drink from the mini bar they would charge an extra $5.00 delivery free. The mini bar should always be in the room. nothing really - parking extra. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable. The shower head was broken and wouldn't face down only straight at the wall or your face and showering became quite the event. The balcony could be tidier with newer table and chairs to match the room. the window from the bed into the barhroom albeit with a venetian blind, but looked straight onto the toilet..no idea why. That the tv kept cutting out and the hassle of checking in first before parking and going from the parking area to the hotel and then to the lifts to get to your room is a mission. The lift in the parking area is old and slow and was always full that we had to wait for the next one. Only bad thing out of the whole experience. The cost of car park not explained at check in. But the cost of car park was so minimal did not spoil any part of our stay. The glass shower screen does not extend far enough to prevent water from soaking the floor. No kitchen to prepare my own meals. You take the lift from the carpark down to the ground floor to access the hotel. After 10pm the hotel door is locked and you have to walk down the ramp from the second floor of the carpark to the street and go around to the main entrance of the hotel. Surely the hotel door could operate using hotel room keys after hours. Limited free to air digital TV channels (for movies). The fact that there was construction taking place. No tennis court Pool area needs tidying up eg: rusted areas and tiles in pool loose and missing When showering water splashing onto floor area outside bath - slippery when stepping out of shower because of water. Small glass wall in shower was inadequate and allowed water to go onto the floor. Lift to Car Park not working. Cupboard door to safe falling off its hinge. Not being able to get other tv Channels like Eleven & Go.
