The staff were excellent at the Saigon Europe Hotel! They were so friendly, efficient and most importantly, helpful. I remember the young lady at the front desk often giving me advice on the best places to visit and also anything I should be wary of in the streets during my visit. I appreciated this information, as otherwise I would not have known and by knowing, I felt more safe. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are excellent. Breakfast was fantastic at the hotel - it was great to.
all reviews » I loved everything about the Hotel. Suuuuper value for money!!! The staff was very accommodating and genuinely cared for their guests. Case in point: we checked-in around 1 am and presented our passports as is protocol. Little did I know that they took note of my birthday (which was the day after) and they surprised me with a gift/token. Sweetest. Gesture. We had our doubts about not having a window (only if you book the cheapest room) but it wasn't bad at all! Maybe even better because it protects against possible street noise. Location is in the middle of the backpackers area and about 15min walk to the Dong Khoi centre. We had a lot of different hotels in Vietnam (also non budget) but this one was the most clean. The hotel was hidden away in the backpackers district, and was in a great location - close to some lovely restaurants (Monsoon Restaurant, in particular) and bars. The hotel room itself was small, but very clean. Infact, it was a lovely surprise considering the small price we payed to stay there. Regarding the hotel itself, there really were no bad points - I would thoroughly recommend staying there!. We stayed for a week here in nov 2013,Hotel staff were all lovely an friendly! Room was spotless as was bathroom! Fresh towels everyday! We stayed in deluxe double and had window! Location was excellent,we walked everywhere! Not having a window was a very strange experience, and I did not know I wouldn't before hand. My only suggestion would be to let customers know before they purchase (or at least make it clearer) But I really cant fault the hotel on anything!. I think every hotel in the backpackers area can be quite noisy. But with earplugs and a room without a window it was really fine for us (and I'm a light sleeper). At a push, the only bad point was the hotel didn't replenish the complimentary bottled water after day 1. Also, I have to say, one of the guys who worked there was a little strange - making quite odd comments everytime we saw him, and one evening he called us a taxi and told us it was a good price - we found out after the journey home that we were completely ripped off. So I would say, get your own taxi and make sure they put it on the meter!. It is noisy at night in room as your so near crazy buffalo across road and others,but its Ho Chi Minh so u can expect that everywhere till early hours! Get a room without window if ur concerned about this!. Paid GBP 31 per night. Have had nicer places for $10 per night. Breakfast not self serve = pretty awful. Shower in bath, non-adjustable, fixed at height to suit midget, also no shower curtain so bathroom floor, toilet seat etc gets flooded. Note to hotel: never mind folding the loo roll into a point (nobody cares) fix the shower curtain!! One English speaking news channel on the TV would be nice if possible. The rain .ha,ha,ha. Taxi transfer from airport was quoted at $20 - this seems high when the recommended taxi firms such as vinasun meter the fare at around $8 - however this appears to be the standard rate charged by all the hotels and it does avoid any uncertainty at the airport and reassuring for lone females or first time visitors perhaps. Our room was near the kitchen so was a bit noisy first thing in the morning. It can be a little noisy at night but nothing too bad. Rooms are a little bit small, but no problem. It was all good, maybe the only thing was that our room didn't have the window. Avoid rooms at front of hotel if you want a good nights sleep. Very noisy room at front of hotel so traffic noise was a problem also a concert was on near the hotel and went till quite late. Don't book a room at the street side if you don't like the sound of the night life. The staff warned us upfront and offered another room. Very busy area. It's on a busy noisy street. Very noisy room overlooking the street - but given an alternative after the first night. It was a bit noisy during the early morning hours as I was right above the kitchen. Breakfast. The breakfast was a bit poor, but still ok for the price. Our room had no window but it can be considered as advantage for having a quiet room. Breakfast was really poor. A little bit of noisy. The receptionist told us all available accommodation were taken up when we arrived at the hotel, even we booked one room from Booking one day in advance . But we didn't get any information about that from Booking or the hotel before arriving. The recetionist explained that there were something wrong with Booking system and arranged us to a nearby hotel which belong to the same group with Saigon Europe. nothing. I booked a deluxe room for three adults because a third person was joining us here. When we arrived the room had been prepared for only two guests, The night staff did rectify matters with an extra set of towels, cup etc for us. The next day the cleaning staff again only provided for two guest desipte me reminding reception that we had booked the room for three guests. Little bit noisy. We had two small bottles of water free in the room when we arrived, it would have been good if they restocked these daily. Near the backpacker area so you could hear music at night and I was happy to have ear plugs or I may not have slept. Ending my holiday.
