We booked a large room and were upgraded to a suite with living room andbalcony. Very nice touch. I would definitely stay there again. This isbeing stated by someone who lives and works in nyc. My wife and I werewere looking to get away without kids. The location couldn't have beenbetter-- easy access/walk to the West Side's Theater District,Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building et.

Very nice and friendly hotel staff, large room (Deluxe Studio) with an excellent view towards the ESB, good location for sight-seeing, shopping, etc. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to NY, and can recommend it to friends and family.the restaurant next door was fabulous and very convenient. the room was very spaceous. when leaving the porter was excellent organising the cab to take us to the airport. That that were no designated smoking rooms, although our room was not smoky and was aired out quite well with a good ventillation system.The shower was difficult to manage and changed temperature erratically. Difficult to regulate heating, but we just opened the window.Bar area is small to sit and have a quiet drink. Possibly fit an exhaust fan in the bath, but not that inconvenient per se.The fridge froze everything I put into it -- like my milk!. at midnight September 12th there was no hot water. the cleaning staff on our first morning there (after a very long flight) was knocking on our door at 9am to clean it. we thoought that this was very early and consideration that we were on our vacation should have been noted. Hard to control the heat of the room. Their room was adequate but their friends room was better.It appears the hotel could with a bit of a makeover.I understand this is being done floor by floor. As every where in NY the noise. Even we where in the 11th we listen the noise of the street during the night, but we can sleep. Bit noisy because of elevator bell + doors that don't close smoothly and thin windows. Kitchenette need to be restored/renovated. No way to turn down heat. Thought it was a bit expensive but its new york,. The thin walls, I had a party next door the first night and was awake half of the night The Hot rooms - about 80degrees, the heating cannot be swithed off and I was told either to put on the air conditioning or open a window I also found a cockroad by my fridge - not nice Also not as cheap as last year 404 $ for 2 x nights in Jan quite expensive. Insulation of windows and doors need improvement since air draught through these leaksges compromise the central heating quality. This led cold nights during my stay. Internet access was another problem during evenings and nights, would work early morning at or before 6 am and that too for an hour or so. Blankets were not provided, only night coveture was there under the bed cover which emitted dust causing coughing (I'm allergic to dust). kitchen not up to standard. the Tv was so old and needed to be replaced as most chanels didnt work. It was a bit stuffy and old fashioned. Also do they work with (taxi)drivers that try to get more money at the airport then the hotelconcierge told us it would be ($10 more).The lady at the service counter was sooooo unfriendly. Both roombathroom windows face next door neighbor's, which is only about 4feets away!!. No hot water in the shower for two days. Small TVs. Not very cleen. No drinking water available - neither in minibar, nor in lobby. Very noicy elevator. Stayed at a suite in 17.th floor.The customer service. I had some bad experiences: 1.- The room were not cleaned 2.- The people at the front desk was not friendly 3.- I booked at the front desk for a shuttle to the airport, but the front desk did not book it with the shuttle company. On my leaving day I did not get a shuttle, and the treatment on the front desk was not only unfriendly but humiliating. Attempted extortion during 2 hour check in.
