The hotel is very close to Gran Central Station. It was very quiet, very clean and has been recently refurbished. Bed was very comfortable. A small hotel but nice and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. My daughter and I stayed one night in a budget room so it was small, with bathroom down the hall (sink in the room) but nicely appointed and very well-maintained, and as I said, quite comfortable. Will definitely plan to go back with the whole family.

The hotel was lovely and clean, fresh towels everyday. It is close to main attractions. Hotel design was great and clean. I though shared bathrooms would bother me but realized that I don't REALLY need a bathroom in the room..surprising revelation. Located in very good place, close to Empire State, Times Square and Grand Central station. Rooms clean and everything is new. There is WiFi in rooms. So, highly recomended - good place for nice price. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The decor was fun. Room was small, but that is pretty typical for NYC. Not much more. shared bathroom meant planning my morning a little differently, but really no different than if I'd shared the room with someone!. Not a case of didn't like but would have been better if there was a bar at the hotel also the girl on reception I think her name was Da'ryl could have expressed herself a little bit better, she was excellent with us but we noticed a few remarks to other guests and had that have been us we would have had to say something to her, but otherwise a very pleasant helpful member of staff especially towards us, it may have been her New York way but us English are sticklers for politeness. Small rooms and a bit noisy... Cars and trucks on 40th street... but that is New York !. NYC weather in late March. The elevator is small and slow. I used the stairs several times. Toilet and shower not in the room but I did know this when I booked the room. The room and bathroom was a bit small. nothing. Lift was a bit old but ok Couldn't open blinds as office across way could see us. Lack of kettle in room to make tea or coffee. Lack of a comfortable chair in room. Failure to change sheets without being asked. Room as not modern as in the pictures. Room too close to service room. Noise effect by workers quite disturbing. Room was not cleaned on one occasion, but management apologized. Lift was very slow. Room is small and my room is facing the street. It is a bit noisy. The guest room on ground floor is under major renovation work, so we couldn't use it. So guests closed and opened the share toilet doors loud. No water dispenser. They really should have one. The elevator is pretty old too, and that is the only one that they have for the whole building. Need more elevators.
