I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels. I would certainly staythere again. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms and excellent parking facilities for an extra charge. What you would come to expect from Hilton.

The hotel is quite convenient to the medieval town of York and especially to Clifford's Tower. All staff we encountered were quite friendly. Breakfast was outstanding and there was a full range of hot and cold foods. The bed was comfortable and had ample pillows, and the room (a standard double) had a desk, two chairs, and a small table.Very centrally located, easy to walk to all the main attractions. Very good breakfast. Smart decor, good beds, efficient service, friendly staff. I dont usually stop at luxury hotels, but I spoilt myself for a change and found the experience fantastic. Even though this was a deluxe it was a bit on the small side. small ensuite. Breakfast. Not able to park on site.. Had to leave car 10 minutes away.. Notimpressed.The restaurant closes early £3 for a double expresso. The room was on the top floor and there was a lot of noise from the central heating there was a tapping noise coming from above the roof that kept me awake. My sisters room was on the same floor but not noise.One of the rooms was much smaller than the other and had two single beds compared to two queen sized in the other room. The car park was full on arrival so we had to park across the street. We arrived at 4 and had to wait around until after 6pm to put more money in to cover us until check out.Reception was slow, understaffed and overly stretched. Huge queue to check in and check out with only 2 staff and other staff standing watching. The bathroom facilities (shower) was poor.parking a nightmare and extortinate. insufficient and expensive parking, contradictory service on reception, small room. Food wasnt very good. Soup sent out cold and steak tough. variety needs changins. I thought the room was small and the beds were not very comfortable. Over priced for the standard of accomodation.There was only one member of staff manning the reception on Sunday morning at checkout time. The queues were very long. We had a train to catch. Disappointed by standard of room given price charged. I expected something a bit more special. Hotel very nice, rooms like travel lodge.not being able to park. no air co in room and noisy corridor. we have stayed in hotels in london etc, which were a lot better value for money and definatly a 4star experiance! our room in the hilton york left a lot to be desired!!. The cushions, throw on the bed and chair were all dirty and stained. The bed was rather small. Also had a view of a roof top! Although beyond your control I was not pleased to be woken at 3 am on the second night of my stay to a couple in one of the adjacent rooms arguing.The room isolation is not good, so there is noise during night when people come from outside and quite noisy. There is also water dripping noise near the window (seems to a board or something) when it was raining. The heating in the room was stopped in the early morning, which made the room a bit cold in the later night. Took 30 minutes to receive the four drinks we ordered in the bar restaurent; we decided not to stay for dinner!.
