The friendly welcome from Natalie, a good sized room that was spotlesslyclean and nicely furnished and decorated. The breakfast - I do not thinkyou would get better anywhere - it was fresh cooked to order. It was ina good location, easy walking distance from the station and close to thecity centre too. We would certainly visit again and would stronglyrecommend to others. The levels of cleanliness were exceptional. The room was decorated to a high standard and was modern and fresh looking. Staff were very welcoming. The food was excellent and plentiful. The location was ideally situated for both the city centre and the railway station. Would definitely recommend based on our stay and will be back on our next visit.

Add to that a five minute stroll into the centre of York- a perfect city break location!. We liked everything about our stay. The breakfast was first class, the staff were really friendly and helpful, our room was like home from home and we were so handy to York city centre.Loved the atmosphere of the hotel with all the homely touches. The owner and her daughter were lovely and went out of their way to give you what you needed. Nice family run hotel. Clean, warm comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. Near to the centre of York so ideal location. I would book again for sure.My room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful; they even drove me to the train station when I was ready to check out. Staff were helpful. Room was cosy. Guest House was quiet and barely a 10 minute walk into the city. If I was to be picky the only downside to the room was that there was no light above the only mirror which made it difficult to see what you were doing i.e. hair and there was no plug socket there. Breakfast was a little early (for a Sunday morning!) - 8am - 9am!!. Would have preferred a first floor room had one been available. Nothing. We were expecting a bathroom but it was a shower room only. not enough buscuits.........lol. Breakfast a little early from 8am to 9am could of done with being until10am, no garden area especially hard if smokers!!! Though I hear alot ofyou moan and groan about that one, just remember there are still a lotof smokers out there and its their Human Right to do so!. The room and that there was no window outlook or fresh air. That was the only complaint. Other than that you could not fault the Brentwood. We will deffinatly stay there again and bring friends!. Pillows were a bit hard. The 'ensuite' was tiny so the washbasin had to be in the room, though for 2 nights this was not a problem.Tinned tomatoes for breakfast. We were unfortunate to have the room next to the front door so weredisturbed by people coming and gong at night. Ensuite room a bit small. Quite a walking distance from town center and railway station. The hotel was a little too warm overnight.
