It was very close to shopping centre and so convenient especially during the wet weather. It suited me perfectly as I am slightly disabled and unable to walk for long distances. Beautiful decor. Restaurant staff very friendly. Beds/pillows were very comfortable and the hotel was nice and warm. Nice bar and reception area. Clean and well-organized. Staff quite helpful and friendly. In the heart of the town, next to the big shopping center.
all reviews » There was major traffice problems, so the staff allowed me to parkin the disabled bay untill it cleared! Which really helped after along drive. Very reasonable rate and friendly staff and God bless them I was able to retrieve the coat I left behind with the minimum of fuss.Friendly staff, very clean environment and great service. The room service breakfast was GBP16+ per person for continental - so we did not even enter the dining room. We went over to the pub opposite and four of us had a cooked breakfast with drinks for less than GBP15 - total!. hotel room was smaller than expected.... but of good standard. The rooms were too small for a "4" star hotel and the wind was howling in through the windows like in an old castle in Scotland. Your key system could be refined, to carry a paper slip aound for meals and the sports centre seems a bit outdated.The bathroom was a little tired and could do with a little tlc. Hotel staff were very slow to attend to customers. A number of peoplehad to wait an unacceptable amount of time for service from receptionfrom a hotel of this standard.the car park looked quite unsafe and i took everything to my room. The hotel was very good in general, unfortunately Luton is one of the worst places I've ever been to. The stay was for a training course but I did not see anything that would lure me back to Luton for another visit.The night time receptionist (male) was very rude, didn't even say good evening. It was like he couldn't be bothered. The girl receptionist the following morning was very friendly however. Yes - I found it difficult to find. I have always used this hotel and i have never had a problem but my stay this time was not as good.It was very noisy and someone set the fire extinguisher off at 2.30am outside our room.people were always talking and shouting outside our room.And the bathroom was really shabby ,the paint had peeled off in the bath and it was very sharp.I have never had a problem before. Room was small and the bar was packed with groups of men drinking hard so I did not go there.Parking, steam room out of order,. Room furnishings were somewhat dated although clean. walls are very thin, that you can easily follow talks/tv in rooms nearby. Smoking is allowed on the top floor. It is noisy.Away from centre of town. Hotel room was not very clean, stains on walls which wasnt very nice. Room very small and little room to move around. The room could do with a refurbishment soon. Drinks at bar overpriced. The room had splatter marks on the closet doors (looked like gravy) and there was a kick mark in the toilet door. We had quite a long wait for our dinner which took almost 45 minutes before anyone came to take our order.Bathroom needed a thorough clean. Requested twin executive room when booked, hotel had double room ready,ended up in very small standard room!.

- Take the M1.
- Exit at junction 10.
- Turn onto Spur Road (junction 10A).
- At the first roundabout take the second exit towards the Airport.
- Pass Capability Green Business Park.
- At the next roundabout turn left passing Vauxhall Sports Centre on your left.
- Go straight over the next 2 roundabouts, bringing you into Windmill Road.
- At the big roundabout, go straight into St Mary's Road - you now have a church on your left-hand side.
- At the traffic lights go straight up to the mini roundabout.
- Turn left into Guilford Street.
- Take the left turn signposted Cheapside and enter the Central Arndale Car Park. For overnight parking, please continue to the end of level 2 and park by the areas signposted Strathmore Hotel/Galaxy Centre.
- Entry to The Mall shopping centre is 24-hours using these lifts and stairs. Arndale staff are on hand should you require any assistance.
- Take the lifts or stairs down to the shopping level.
- Exit right through the shopping parade past Burger King and Wilkinsons, the Best Western Menzies Strathmore hotel is straight in front of you.
