It was really close to the bus and tube station, cca 2min walk, about 5-10min to center of town by tube. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and pubs just across the street from it. Rooms are neat, staff is OK, even the people staying there were friendly and polite. Really cheap for being this close to the centar and Hyde Park. Worth every penny. we've feeled very welcomed. People are very nice and havea very good behavior. We feel respected. I recommand this place for a studiant who has to pass an exam in london, for example, but also for family in holidays , or any person who like to visit London ...because it is a quiet place .
all reviews » showers were very good for a hostel, the kitchen facilities were also good and the beds were sturdy and therefore didn't make a lot noise when you were on them. Great location with hyde park at the end of the road and 2 tube stations within 2 minutes walk. Situated in a central area,facilities like cooking or ironing are fine.Cleanliness is ok as well. In general,I am delighted and I'd come again. Ofc its not perfect but for that price its ok,cause its in London. The hostel is clean, the staff is very nice and helpful, good value for money, excellent localisation, I'd reccomend for everyone who's more into low-budget travelling, breakfast included. Swell staff at a reasonable price. The bunks have blinds to pull across and enclose you once you lie down -- every hostel needs this feature!. basic value for money accomodation perfect for those intending to spend a lot of their time away from the hotel with breakfast included. The price was cheap for London, between 10 and 20 pounds per night, or between $15 and $30 when I was there. Free wi-fi, clean sheets, and free breakfast included with a cheap upgrade available. The temperature in the room was non-uniform. I was on the 3rd level of the bed, and it was quite hot there. Hopefully, I like warm places :). But at the bottom of the room it was much colder... The have a lot of free computers with Internet access. Brilliant location. Very cheap. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, and the location is great!. The bathrooms were a bit small, hard to put all of your stuff in, but they were cleaned at least a couple of times a day. Also wi-fi is only available in the loby and first floor, but that wasn't such a problem because the loby has a sofa and computer where you can hang out with other people. It could be could to have a place to sit outside, just in front of the hostel. The hostel advertises a restaurant, "the pizza factory", offering discount for smart hyde customers. This is not a cheap place considering the target market are backpackers. I ordered a pizza and received 10% discount as a guest at smart hyde. The pizza in question was a regular pepperoni which can only be described as the most expensive solitary cheese and cracker i have ever purchased. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to slice the "cracker" into 4 sections. The cost the laundry is expensive. The bathroom facilities were the weak part, smelly and cramped. One of the toilets is so tight anyone larger than me would not be able to close the door. blocked sink in the bathroom. nothing realy. As there are 12 people share the room. Breakfast can be better :(. The rooms are very small, for so many people. The man working at night is really rude and unpolite. no hooks in the bathroom; some guests may be noisy in the dormitory. Small/limited common areas. Bathrooms, so many stairs levels, poor internet signal. Room too small, stuffy and dark, a lot of space taken up by luggage and drying clothes. In the bathrooms I don`t know put down my cloths, soap etc. 15 persons in a room, breakfast very poor. If anything it´s the madrass. It was too thin. Too many Dorm mates which causes a lot of noise and making hard to gain crucial rest. They don't wash the bed covers (they smell), and the corners of the rooms are pretty dirty. There are a lot of beds stacked on top of each other in every room. They charge for services that are usually gratuities, like luggage storage. You have to walk several blocks for the free breakfast. The kitchen is very poorly equipped. Many people in the rooms and no space to store the items. Although it was cheap you had to pay extra for lockers, print outs, paying with cards etc. The dorm was quite smelly - needed a good airing. it's quite filthy and the air conditioning in the dormitory is absent, thus in hot days you have to sweat your way through the night. It was pretty dirty and the showers were poor. In the lobby was bunch of some shabby guys and one of them was rolling joint just in the sofa in front of everybody. We didn't mind but I would not go there with my kids at least. it was a little cramped. Very small rooms. Felt crowded. Plastic bowls, cups and cutlery. The breakfast room seriously needs attention. The quilt smelt of previous inhabitants. The mould in the toilets. The common area was a bit dingy. The showers were barely luke warm. Could be cleaner in certain areas, EG bedrooms. was a bit cramped. staff did not understand thar british citizens do not carry passports. Shower room can't lock. So, when I took a shower, I was very worried about someone's coming. Some times you leave the hotel for one day when you let the lugqgage because you are coming back day after you must pay every times 2 pound per item normaly it s free for 24 hours and after maby you pay when the luggages stay more then 24 hours. They should make like this it s better for the fidelity next time I am not sur I come back there. they have moved the breakfast to the other building. no window in the room. Some employees could be more friendly; the room wasn't that clean, there was noise almost all night long (other guests would stay outside, on the street, and chat really loudly); the breakfast room wasn't even in the hostel, we had to walk a little to get there, and the place was a bit disgusting. very narrow. noisy. Little children. There are just two plogs in a 16-bed room！！. The bathrooms were not clean and didn't always have soap or toilet paper. .
