Everything, we arrived earlier than check in and were able to leave our car whilst we went off into London shopping, staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, they couldn't do enough for you, looking into available shows etc. The rooms were spotless, modern and the bed (kingsize) was sooo comfortable we could have slept all weekend, the continental breakfast consisted of a wide variety of food and drinks, including meats, cereal, fruit and choc biscuits etc. The hotel offered room se.
all reviews » The location is excellent. The hotel is nearby East Ham metro station which brings you transfer free to the city centre at Westminster Abbey/Big Ben. Lot's of restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacy are just across the street. The rooms are very comfortable, modern, clean with large beds, good TV, airconditioning and very nice bathrooms. I've read in another review the roadside rooms can be noisy, but that was not our experience. In the evening it's also pretty quit on the streets. Breakfast is . Basically, I liked everything! This is from very far the best hotel I stayed in within the whole London area. Great value for money, all the installations are new so everything works properly, very comfy rooms with big screen tv and tea making, the staff is very friendly, smiling, helpful and very caring, great facilities with a free secured car park (which is very convenient in the middle of a residential zone where it's impossible to park and when you don't want to pay the congestion charge i. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room and en suite were small but were neat, clean and newly fitted. Breakfast was a continental buffet with a range of bread and pastries, cold meats, fruit and salad, porridge and cereal and some snacks. I stayed there with my sister for a city break but the atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed and quite quiet - once in our room we weren't conscious of other guests moving round - so I'd also recommend it for business or for families. We were in London for Sightseeing/shopping and stayed at Ruskin 4 nights. All in all we have been very pleased with the Hotel and especially with the friendly and always helpfull staff, special thanks to the lady at the reception(Sugy?) she had a answer to every question, very nice and helpfull. takes about 6min to the nearest tube station(East ham) and then about 30-40 min to like Oxfort street. Hotel is located in an Indian neighborhood, but unlike other reviews we have felt safe at all times. my single room was clean, large with a comfortable bed. the bathroom was spacious and modern. large tv. effective, individually controlled airconditioning which was on when I got to the room which was appreciated as a hot day. hotel is about 1km or 10 minutes walk from east ham underground station (turn right out of station and on same side). you can get a #104 or 474 bus (from opposite side of road to the station) to the hotel. staff said hello each time they saw you. breakfast was good with. Wifi in the room worked well, just ask for the login and password daily (only valid for 24 hours). It's a seven minute walk to East Ham metro. There are many great Indian restaurants around the corner. We also loved the pub next to the hotel, the Ruskin Arms. Very relaxed crew and there's a nice selection of beers and food. You can play pool billiart and games (and watch sports of course!). Despite how the hotel might seem far away from the city center, you can easily walk to the underground station in about 10 minutes. There you can ride the tube directly to Westminster station, where a lot of the attractions are located. Also, there are a lot of Indian restaurants, take-aways, and supermarkets nearby. Their prices are a lot cheaper when compared to the ones in the city center. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the the overall hotel is very clear and pleasant to stay at. Good Indian restuarant directly opposite. My second stay. The Ruskin Hotel was in a good location for my business trip and has its own secure private parking for a few cars. Tip get there early to ensure you get a place. The hotel (formerly a pub) is undergoing a rebuild. Everything is new. Rooms are of reasonable size, well furnished with comfortable beds and most importantly clean. A good continental breakfast is included in the rate. The staff was very very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Very close to the underground as well, it's about five minutes to walk there. Everything that you'd want from a stat in a hotel was available. The area offered lovely restaurants at walking distance and overall it was wonderful!! we loved it :). staff were really helpful - we were doing the 100 mile cycle ride, they sorted our bikes and arranged a really early breakfast. I have no real criticism only to say I thought the room service prices were a bit on the expensive side, (but then we didn't order to see if the food justified that). And the shower gels were a little to small for a decent shower, but apart from that an excellent stay and I would highly recommend this Hotel. During our stay, the restaurant was being renovated so we had breakfast in the lobby which did not have enough seats for everybody. However, the staff was willing to improvise and arrange additional seats for us. Once the restaurants renovation is finished there will be 180 seats. -The quality of the food served for breakfast should be improved. They could propose something better. -In the room, the noise of the ventilation in the bathroom is slightly annoying at night as it never stops and the heating is also a bit noisy when it works. But honestly, that's not a big issue. The hotel is about ten minutes walk from East Ham tube station (District and Hammersmith & City lines) and from there about 30 minutes into the centre of London. For me this wasn't a problem and was more than compensated for by the price of the hotel and level of service. doors with keycards do close with a bang as handle cannot be turned from outside. 4 out of the 5 nights I stayed there was a group of guests slamming doors and yelling in corridors up till midnight but that is the guest's, not hotel's fault. once people were in their rooms though you couldn't hear voices or televisions. Coffee could have been freshly brewed, unfortunately only instant coffee was offered during the breakfast. There wasn't any warm food available. The rooms were quite small. One of the bathrooms had some problems with the plumbing, but these should be solved by now. There could have been a hairdryer in the bathroom and some glasses instead of plastic cups. Nothing really!. Although you can get Internet connection via cable in the room, wi-fi is only available in the public areas. Also, the breakfast can use some improvements, since most of the food available are packaged cakes and bread. Some hot food would have been nice. East Ham is not the nicest part of London. Also, while there are plenty of Indian restaurants, there are very few traditional pubs or 'high street' clothes shops, so when we stayed at the Ruskin we took the Tube to Oxford Street for shopping and drinking. Rooms at front suffer from traffic noise Observation rather than a gripe - limited on site car parking. Nothing. The only minor inconvenience we experienced was the fact that we ordered some pasta from roomservice and the only pasta on the menu was a vegetarian one but somehow we ended up having chicken in ours. They were quick to replace the food though and even gave us two complementary drinks, so I think that is excellent. The lighting in the bathrooms (I've stayed twice in different rooms) is pretty poor. It's a single LED downlight in the centre of the room which means it's behind you when you're trying to shave. But that is a very minor point on balance. internet disconnecting sometimes. But most of the time stable. Distance from Town center. Free Wifi was only available in the lobby/dining area. Personally, I think free Wifi should be provided in the rooms as well. Another thing was the location of the hotel is quite far away from the city central, but luckily the nearest tube station was just 10-15 minutes away (walking) from the hotel. Nothing. Wifi not yet in rooms but they'll be installing it soon. The neighbourhood is rather dodgy and it takes about 40 minutes total to get from hotel door to Westminster by tube. There was nothing NOT to like! honest!!. we ate in the attached pub and whilst the food was good - starters and main course came together and we had to wait almost an hour for it to arrive when it didn't appear busy - a shame everything else was great. Parts of the floor around the bed, although covered by carpet were most uncomfortable. No easy chair. Nothing everything was fine. location is not perfect but it is good. There are things that can be improved. The lighting in the room and especially in the bathroom is very weak. The breakfast is not good especially the juices and the pastries which are unedible. The wifi is a bit of a joke (typical hotel wifi - probably good connection in one particular corner of the reception), but I've come to understand that this is common practice for hotels. Room could have been cleaner (a bit of hair here and there, not clean garbage bin in the bathroom), but all in all good. I recommend this hotel. The location is quite far from the city, about an hour or more by bus and the tube. You need to take the bus and transfer to the underground if you want to go to the city. And there's no free wifi in the room. You have to be at the lobby to get free wifi. They charge 3 pounds a day for wifi in the room. I didn't like Booking.com cheating on me mentioning that all rooms have minibar. Rooms are prepared for it, having the space for it in the closet. A little bit far from Central London, makes you spend more time in transportation. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. No heating in the bathroom floor, and the aircon was automatically turning itself of every 60 minutes. The room was clean enough, but it had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned (particularly the sink and garbage bin, etc.). But all in all - for the price, this is a good stay and recommended!. I think they should offer a pair of sleepers and Water in the room. Nothing to say. - no wifi in rooms in my opinion. - cold bathroom without heating possibility (but I did like it as I like low temp). Whilst taking into accoubt this is a new hotel; rooms would benefit from wi-fi and a welcome manual giving details of local amenities, tube stations, bus stops/fares etc... The breakfast sounded nice on paper but was a bit dsappointed when I went. I was warned the hotel was fully booked so I could take my food upstairs which I did have to do. Everything was cold, the crumpets, croissants. I was expecting to have all been cooked/toasted and then kept warm for people to help themselves to. No complaints.
