hotel staff. The service was good and the hotel staff was kind. I enjoyed staying at Ascot and I think I will return some time in the future.Cleanliness of the room and bathroom;the beds and breakfast were really good; the staff is O.K. The hotel has great connections to Paddington Railway, Paddington tube, all kind of buses. We also loved the neighbourhood. Hotel was clean, bed was quite comfortable, breakfast was basic but adequate and for £40 for the night was value for money.

Ascot hotel was really to closed in paddingthon station and this is very good for us!. Not very much - the hotel was more like a bandb or hostel. If the rooms were a bit larger, everything was good. no bath plug ! but can understand reasons why.The continental breakfast, while welcome and quite adequate, was also a somewhat challenging ordeal, with occasional queues forming at the toaster, and waits for the orange juice and coffee to be replenished. We can't fault the staff, though, who seemed to be struggling to keep up with the demands. The breakfast room itself was fairly small for a hotel of that size. Wireless internet did not work on the upper floors although it's advertised as being available througout the hotel. Breakfast room should be renovated. Locks on the room doors look very unsafe. I didn't find the staff to be unfriendly, but maybe a little smile could help dealing with customers :-). Could do with a lick of paint. Breakfast needs improvement. I suppose to get a free internet connection and that was the main reason I chose the hotel. However, the connection was unavailable the whole time and I had to seek for an internet cafe to do my work (i.e. extra cost). breakfast room and breakfast selection. Small bedrooms and breakfast room. Very plain breakfast, but you could eat so you got fulled up. The waterpipe in tub was broken and I could not take a shower as the result. I reported the problem but no staff came to repair it.breakfast was too simple. I would have preferred something other as fruit and yougurt. Not enough places for breakfast. couldn't check in before 1:30pm. This is not three star hotel. But with this price you can find only hostel in London. Acceptable.My only gripe would be that having a large case with me i had to carry it up 4 flights of narrow twisting steps and back down again! lol on arrival the guy at reception said " good news you will be in one of the bigger rooms" ... i guess u have to see the funny side of these things. the bigger room had a gap of about a foot between the end of the bed and the wall. and not too much room elsewhere. The breakfast room is little for the all passangers and dark.the other guests of the hotel on my floor made noises all night long, maybe they were drunked, and I couldn't sleep one single moment during the first night. Dirty. the size of the room quite small. tv had no remote control, the hotel room was a bit shabby but you get what you pay for!. The hotel is very tired and worn, could really do with just a paint. The hotel website pictures dont seem to represent the actual hotel that I saw. I have scored poor for cleanlimess as my towels were filthy (they had dark brown crusty rings on them. yuck!!!). If you are a good sleeper you will cope, if not good luck as the hotel creaks and some patrons did not respect that others were sleeping. no plugs so could not bath, did not fulfill requests made when made the booking.a bit tatty. There was no Internet in the room as promised. All the furniture and equipments were quite old. The breakfast room was small when many guests were downstair in the same time for having breakfast.The other staff were a bit misrable and I didn't feel very safe in the room because the lock was not very secure. Reception staff did not always seem to pay much attention to the clients.After checking in I was shown to their 'sister hotel' at 9a Craven Rd which did not have a lift so I had to carry my heavy bag up 3 flights of narrow stairs. I got the feeling I wasn't in the main hotel because I paid a reduced rate. It was a very tiny room. There was no light when we came (out of order) and the hot water ended during my bath (cold experience) but the hotel guy helped us. Mu friend a very nice bath in another room, which was a very nice room!. very noisey, thin walls, and small rooms. Too many rooms and cramped. no air conditioning, there was a tv but there wasn't any remote control, no lift. too small. Very small shower cubicle. Intenet fail and can't access for a long time, no staff to help.It was classed as a 3 Star but would think it must be on the low side of a 3 star category. * Toilet smelled horrible.* Noise from outside kept me awake most of the night! Do NOT use this hotel if you have to get up for anything important!. 1) Matrases very unconfortable-you feel the springs 2) Breakfast Timings only till 9:30 and is served down in celler giving you very uncomfortable feeling 3) Very narrow gangway 4) You feel very unsafe with room locks 5) Windows not properly closed leaving the room cold in winter. staff were rude, bathroom floor was cracked and all the wooden floors creaked very badly. Internet not working, I was told the equipment was faulty but I could connect to it fine, it just wasn't connected to the internet. Alternative was to pay to use the hotels computer. Staff were not helpful. Room was tiny, hot, smelled rather odd. Sitting on toilet meant putting feet in shower. Sink was blocked, shower door didn't fit.They only had a room tiny room with shared facilities left even though I had booked an en-suite single. I was told about this only after I had paid! They said they were sorry and offered traditional breakfast as a compensation but I still found this very unfair. And then I could not get asleep because the trundle bed was floating in the room!. Ascot hotel must to be better in all!!!It's to pure now to be 3 stars hotel!.
