We needed a comfortable hotel near Aldgate and HAC, as we were meeting friends in Aldgate and going to a dinner at HAC. This hotel looks and feels brand new but has actually been open for years. The staff are very helpful and efficient, making our stay a pleasure. The room was beautifully appointed with a large bathroom sporting a shower and separate bath, plenty of towels and bathrobes. all reviews » When we arrived the staff were extremely friendly. We were given a map of London and was showed where the local attractions were, and the closest tube stations too. We were upgraded to a larger room for our Honeymoon which had a balcony. The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. We even had free snacks, bottled water, and a gift of chocolates waiting for us. The hotel is located near 3 tube stations which is very convenient. Breakfast was very nice too, although it is not includ. Plush interior, very chic & luxurious. Nice touches in the room eg heated towel rail, complimentary nibbles, bathrobes & slippers etc. Staff were also very friendly & nothing was too much trouble! Single yellow line outside hotel which meant we didn't have to pay a bean to park all weekend which was a great bonus!!. I arrived at the hotel to find I'd been upgraded to the a Deluxe Room on the 7th floor with my own private balcony. The staff members were so helpful and polite. The decor was tasteful and stylish. It's quite good designed hotel with comfortable, cosy, small rooms, really nice thing that rooms have both as a shower as a bath tube and a small complimentary rubber duck which you can pick with you. Located about 5-10 mins walking to the underground station Moorgate. There are many business offices located near the hotel because of financial district, so during the weekend this district is very quiet but during working week it could be very noisy. The Room service staff member entering my room at 9.30am on Sunday morning, waking me and then asking me what time I was leaving! I put this down to lack of communicating that the room was occupied as I had been upgraded. Obviously the hotel caters mainly for business, but on a weekend, the area is deserted. The restaurant menu does not explain clearly that vegetables have to be ordered separately. The fact we had to leave!. With 580 BP for 3 nights the hotel blocked 1240 BP on my card. I was told at the reception that it's a standard procedure and it will be released automatically. Correct, but in 30 days only according to my bank... The breakfast is not included in the price of the room, so you choose from a menu and pay for what you get. We much prefer a buffet style breakfast, so that you can a little bit of different things rather than a plateful of one thing, but thats only our personal choice. Nothing. Actually nothing. And I'm pickie. The hotel is in the business district of London so this part of the city shuts down so there is no buzz! But if you like peace it is very quite at weekends and probably in the evenings. Having to leave. What was there not to like?. It's in the City, which is great if that's where you want to be. There were a couple of tiny maintenance issues. Phone report free wifi as too slow to use and dropped out. Not cheap !! but at least the quality was good. The wifi in our room didn't work, when I phoned reception they didn't seem interested and just told me to try again. The breakfast team weren't available at the time breakfast was stated to start. The Walls in the Stair Well past the first floor. tempting mini bar!. Nothing. Aircon set at 24 degrees - seemed to reset at this when turned down which is a bit warm for us!. We had an evening meal with a bottle of white wine. I informed the waiter that the wine was warm, which he replied no it is cold. I asked for a bottle cooler and he says that they did not have one so he took the bottle away to keep cool and served when I asked. Not very good I'm afraid. Having said that this would not deter us from staying in your lovely hotel in the future. nothing to dislike. Room cleaning was good but could have been better. A little expensive Breakfast to the room was not quite what we ordered and there were no plates for the toast and no sugar. Not much maybe the price. no swimming pool. Having to leave!. Restaurant was bit ex. Nothing to moan about. Nothing. Staff was not very interested to make us to feel at home, looked like they didn't care.
