What people say
We had a lovely stay at Glenora Guesthouse during our recent trip to Edinburgh. It's very convenient to Haymarket or just a short ride/bus to Princes Street & the Royal Mile. The staff was very nice, the twin room was HUGE for a European hotel & the beds are very comfortable (though soft). Breakfast is very good & a great way to start the day exploring Edinburgh.
Everything was perfect. Very friendly staff and a really delicious breakfast! Room was very big. About 10' walking from the very nice centre. I did everything on foot. Also a very safe place to travel as a single woman. I definitely would stay here again!!!
I really had a good time.all reviews »
Friendly and welcoming staff, very good breakfast and the comfortable rooms made our stay at the Glenora Guesthouse worthwhile and I got value for money. Location is not far away from the town centre on foot and is easily reached by transport to and from the airport.

We liked almost everything. The staff was atencious and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom were spacious. There were different options for breakfast, always delicious.
Very good location nearby Haymarket rail station, good breakfast(choose
one of these :egg benedict, English breakfast, French toast) and
helpful staff.
The Staff.I asked them to wash a shirt for me and it was no problem.Breakfast was great.

The breakfast was fantastic. The location was great. 1/2 block from one of the airport bus stops and about a mile walk to the castle.

Spacious clean room.
everything was fine.
Convenient location. Nice big room and bed. Good toilet and shower facilities. Good breakfast. Plenty of electrical outlets for charging devices.
Lovely beds, lovely bathroom and toiletries, good food, big room, view of greenery from window.
Convenient location with satisfactory accommodation.
Helpful staff.
The room was spacious and the amenities for bath very good.
Breakfast was great .Room was well decorated and modern.
Nice staff, room of good size.
The beds were very comfy.
Nothing.
Location Location Locaton.
- Nothing.
No lift and having to carry the luggage upstairs.
Nothing that comes to mind.
Could'nt see the lock combination for key as it was dark when I arrived also instructions for room said up the stairs when it should have said down, but it did say basement!.
It doesn't have a lift.
No elevator.
Two of the three single beds basically collapsed in the middle so there wasn't any support for our backs.
Nothing.
Mattress on my bed was too soft. I have, of choice, a very firm orthopaedic mattress at home and could not sleep too well. Otherwise very good; I was recently in London, stayed in a B&B for >twice the price, less friendly not as comfortable, less central. Keep up the good work.
The door catch that locked us in the room on several occasions. Not good.
Breakfast, is complicated to find food, drinks, yougurts... Because when it finished they don't replace it.
The breakfast could have been better. Small tv in the room.
Daughter couldn't get connected to wi fi.
Room was small and cold.
WiFi didn't work (although I didn't say anything about it). The password was supplied but it didn't work on any of the three devices I tried. It wasn't that big of a deal just a minor annoyance.
TV in room was very small.
The music played at breakfast
Needs more uplifting music.
i didnt like the fact that there wasnt a lift , as i find climbing stairs very difficult.
Unreliable wifi, broken TV, noisy neighbourhood.
Staff at breakfast disorganised. Did not take orders in sequence. Waited 20 min to order breakfast.
small point- bathroom lovely and clean except for tray holding liquid soap. this had never been cleaned and was all black and slimy.
No complaints other than ciost but I put that down to Edinburgh rather than Glenora.
The staff wasn't the most welcoming.
Single room number 6 despite radiator being on was very very cold and
awful draft coming through the windows .heated towel rail did not work
and bathroom was tiny . Did not like the fact that reception closed at 7
pm and ther was a locked box to get key which on a cold wet dark night
was difficult to access.
Got bit in our bed, think it was flies. Bathroom very small.
The radiator that we couldnt turn off.
The breakfast was poor and i'm not being picky, 3 of us stayed and all 3 have had better in other places we have visited.
Service was slow.
I emailed to say that I was arriving late. Did not get a return email about how to get in at 10.30pm. Another guest let me in None of the three phone numbers were answerable even the emergency number. The staff at breakfast were impolite. Not one even asked how was my stay. Vet expensive room for a B&B.
Had to wait outside for 2 hours before anyone opened the door even though I emailed informing the staff what time I was arriving.
Was given a look of amazement when I asked if my bags had been taken upstairs to my room, had to walk them up myself.
Just not happy at all with my experience. Would not repeat my stay in Glenora if it were free.
