reception open 24/7 gave me complete flexibility in my arrival/departure times. Lucien on reception was very helpful and friendly. the room and its en suite shower and toilet were spotless. the bed was comfortable the room was a nice warm temperature. friendly staffs,warmly bedroom and my friends and i all love this city~people are all very nice here. very close to city center. better than many hotels. really good value for money. all reviews »
International, modern, young atmosphere. Smart.very good room. location. The hostel location was excelent and closed to the city centre. You can also store your luggage in the store room after checking out. This made your life easier to explore Edinburgh. Hotel was beside most amenities, was really impressed with this hostel. More like a hotel to be honest. I have no complaints whatsoever.Clean, comfortable, nice staffs, great location. Its worthwhile to live in this hotel. it was very clean and tidy, very good value. very handy for the centre of edinburgh. Clean funky atmosphere/building. The bed was a little bit unconfortable and the check out time.staff could be a bit too laid back. Instead of getting a twin room we had a room with two sets of bunk beds.Very noisy in our room with disc jockey going very late hard to sleep. Too much noise from the hostel bar. Even though our room was on 4th floor and the bar on the ground floor, excessive noise could be heard all day and night long.However, you could still manage to sleep, as noise level seemed to be constant. Also the bathroom was not very clean and smelt of humidity and urine. Room very small, with very few facilities. Not bad for the price though!. dirty toilet, dirty room carpet, but still will recomend to those in budget concious. Noisy at night, Room is very far from elevator and is unfinished, Hostel is not record any additional customers'requests that make our room is not suitable for our needed.

Smart city hostel Edinburgh is situated just off Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile and a few minute's stroll from both Waverley Railway Station and the Airport Bus terminal.
The Airlink, number 100 bus from the airport to the city centre, drops off at Waverley Bridge, Smart City Hostel is a few minutes walk. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes and a ticket will cost you 3.00 GBP for a single and 5.00 GBP for a return ticket.
From Waverley Train Station
- exit Waverley station using the Market Street exit
- turn to your left, crossing the road and go up the Scotsman steps
- at the top of the steps, turn right into North Bridge and walk a few meters until you reach the High Street (also known as Royal Mile)
- turn left into the High Street
- at the Radisson Hotel turn right down Blackfriars Street
- Smart City Hostel is located on the Right Hand side at the foot of Blackfriars Street
