The staff were so welcoming and helpful with information about Edinburgh, as it was our first visit. It was clean and the food was good. We could not fault the staff or room in this hotel. We had a great stayand the staff were very friendly.staff very helpful + friendly. great bus service into city centre. The decor and facilities in the rooms. The recpiton lady very helpfull.

The atmosphere created by the staff - they were very friendly/helpful. The room was of a high standard. There was good attention to detail such as slippers, dressing gown and treats. Overall it felt far more luxurious than the price I paid for it suggested it would be. Some of the corridors could be upgraded. Our room was situated next to a staff stock cupboard. The staff weregoing into the cupboard repeatedley banging the door from around 8am.I found it hard to get out of the bath, I think you should have some kind of bracket to grip, You could an incident.? other wise every think was just fine. Parking could be very difficult at times. The room was too hot with no way of cooling it down. room was slighlty cramped could have rearranged the furniture a bit better. nothing about the hotel - only drawback was the noise from the busy road which is no reflection on the hotel. Room and bathroom were a bit dusty.Very small hotel, breakfast quite poor and very overpriced. Next time we may try a hotel a little closer to the very centre of Edinburgh. Not particularly warm ambience, poor bar area and bar stock. Dining area/noisy table changing process (eg for breakfast) doesn't invite one to linger and enjoy a meal. Noisy cleaners early in the morning. Probably good hotel for business, but poor for relaxing in!. nothing about the hotel but would have liked it to be more central. My room is near to service room . So little disturbance .... Double room size is small. menu at bar was pricey and not much selection.The noise of the traffic in our first room. The price was ridiculous but I stayed during peak season so it was expected.Price - too expensive. the beds were wrecked and needed new ones, changed roomsafter first night....only to discover behind the curtains a mans pair of boxer shorts...and they were not my partners!!!.

From Glasgow:
- Take the A8.
- Follow signs to Haymarket Station.
