When we entered our room we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities. Having stayed in the Premier Inn previously at various locations I am aware that the hotels vary from site to site. Having only paid £42 for our nights stay we expected only really the bare essentials but this wasn't the case. We were greeted by a large and very comfortable double bed, a spacious bathroom which included a bath and also a fantastic flat screen television attached to the wall in front of the bed. The room.
all reviews » Kirsty, the young receptionist on duty on June 8th, made us feel very welcome, she also changed our room to a far more suitable location, near the front door with no fuss at all. She also remembered that our purpose for staying there was to visit Glamis Castle and on arrival she immediately handed us a map and relevant info with our name on it. This little gesture was most appreciated because it showed she valued personalizing 'Premier Inn's' service. I was staying here with my son (in his 40s) whilst my husband was undergoing major surgery in Ninewells Hospital. The staff could not have been more helpful or considerate. I would recommend to anyone who has sick relatives in Ninewells that the attention given by the staff more than makes up for the very basic rooms. However,the rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. I would definitely stay there again if I needed to. This hotel was very clean, staff were friendly and the beds comfortable. The attached restaurant was excellent, the food was of a much higher standard than I had expected. We had our two year old daughter with us and it was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel. This hotel was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in and we have been all over the world ,it was our first visit to a premier inn and we have just booked up for next week, we use these from now on. Exellent. the staff were really friendly and checked us in asap even though we arrived two hours early! additional tea, coffee and milks no trouble and accomodation was very quiet. European plug adaptor 220v available on reception and free. Multiple sessions of free WIFI (total 30 min for every 24 hours) also very cool. Excellent location for visiting Dundee University and city centre. Rooms in annexe were very quiet, well away from traffic noise. Clean and comfy room very good breakfast with good cooked option cooked to order. Gourdie Croft is also good for evening food. We were in room 21 and the room directly above us had what sounded like a child jumping off a bed or bouncing a ball constantly. it began very early in the morning and went on late into the night, which disturbed all our sleep. Breakfast service took too long. I often find the smell of people smoking at the entrance disturbing. During all visits I have noticed an over flowing bin at the entrance. When the birds raid the bin they leave an unsightly mess of litter. With regular emptying of this bin this matter could be avoided. Online booking sometimes causes problems. The booking in system suchlike the Inverness Waterfront Premier Inn would be beneficial . there was rubbish lying outside the entrance door. My booking through letsbookhotel.com said the rate included breakfast but when we arrived we were told the rate did not include breakfast and the memeber of staff would not nudge on this in spite of me having the print out from letsbookhotel.com showing breakfast included. more expensive place to stay at. A long way from Dundee city centre. Poor water pressure. Very hard to find location. It is not well signposted. Nothing. Nothing. gentlemen at front of house in restaurant was not very helpfull atall we walked past seven tables and told there was none avalible so took my family and buisness elswhere. Cooked breakfast only average. No land line telephone in rooms Internet not stable - Access points will go down everyday and will need to be reset by hotel's internet provider. Location was to far from town. Not much. No air conditioning Could hear the people above moving around. Nothing. room was very hot could not control the temperature in the room. A cold bathroom. Nothing. Breakfast counter was understaffed. However we were given breakfast on the house which was good of the manager. One of the beds - the pull out one - was a bit uncomfortable. The mattress was hard. nothing. Nothing - ticked all boxes. not enough staff at lunch time behind bar.one person takeing lunch orders! waiting quite a while to get a drink. One of the children's beds was not comfortable at all. The mattress was too hard. Unable to pay for room by cash without photo Id. Hot breakfast was too rushed. Breakfast fair but could have been more generous. But good value.
