Great hotel, booked direct pool access room online at discount price, was amazing room. The main pool area is at top of resort, but golf buggys run you around resort when ever needed. Main pool area has plenty of sun loungers, pool bar and also has cocktail happy hours, sit in the pool drinking frozen cocktails late afternoon, ideal. 5 star resort with staff and facilities to match. Let us take out the kayaks free of charge, which thought was very good as other resorts stayed charged 100 - 200 .
all reviews » The staff were very friendly, and really enjoyed working there. We had a villa with a plunge pool so we did not spend much time in the large pool, but the food was all great, the reggae bar was amazing to have a few drinks at sunset. All the food we had was awesome and there was not a huge markup on the prices like in some other resorts we stayed at. It was what a quiet get away should be. It was low season so the pool access bar and grill was closed. All food and drinks were open at the cliff, a bit of a hike from the pool access area. But, we made use of the free shuttle service to get around the property. We took advantage of the specials at the spa - a real treat. The resort was a nice relaxation from a busy travel schedule. The resort was beautiful and perched high on a hill with lovely views. The staff were very helpful and take you up the hill in the resort golf buggy. The rooms are gorgeous and we would recommend the sea view. We loved the reggae bar down on the beach which had an excellent happy hour and good snack food whilst you watched the sunset. Breakfast is great, every day different dishes, Western and Thai food. Low season so very relaxed. 2 beautiful pools. Quality/price very good. Rooms have nice relax Thai atmosphere. Love wooden floor in the room. Very clean. Nice surroundings, well maintained garden. Close to Saladan, so ideal to go out eating at night. We realy enjoyed the Crowne Lanta. we spent 2 nights, in this hotel as part of our honey-moon vacation. and it was great! the staff are very friendly and we got realy good service. also, the room we took is pool access which was realy amazing, and great for a romantic honey-moon. Stayed at this hotel in late october. Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff all speak very good english. Very tasty and varied food calculated on the europeans. Stunning views of the sunset. If you want a quiet stay for You. We have the most warm and pleasant recreation. - Excellent resort with superb facilities and location - Rooms on the upper part of the resort with views are exceptional - Pool is great for relaxing - Bars are really nice (especially the Crown Reggae) - SPA (prices are a bit steep, but use the discounts and special deals). There is nothing not to love about Crown Lanta, the location is gorgeous, facilities are second to none and the staff go above and beyond and are the benchmark for excellent customer service. I would - and will - happy stay here again. The facilities were first class and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I've stayed in a see view room and the room was beautiful and confortable. The pool access room. The pools were of excellent size. The room and the facilities were excellent. That I checked out 3 days early. Be careful for wooden floors around the pools, they need renovation, wear slippers or you can hurt yourself. Even holes in the floor. Massage costs 1200tb in hotel, but 300tb outside. Excursions via hotel expensive, best book via local agency in town. Private beaches are very rocy and ocean is too wild - not suitable for swimming. In general we dont recommend to go to Koh-Lanta off season, there are waves and you cant swim, also not many tourists and all restaurants and shops are closed. the hotel was empty (felt a bit alone in this big resort)..also the location is a bit far from city center, and you need to walk 20 min to get there. there are not close restaurants and the one in the hotel is very expensive maybe things are different in high-season. - No sandy beach (but excellent beaches not very far). Slightly remote but a free bus service is offered by the hotel which we used on a few occasions. people with mobility problems may find the hills a bit problematic but there are buggies you can ask to take you around. Not many people spoke english from the staff. 1). Too hot at the receptionist/lobby area. 2). No mosquitoes repellent 3). No free Wi-Fi. Fixtures were cheap - everything from the TV, to the gym equipment, to the shower. The resort is also designed for golf carts, not super pedestrian friendly, would really love to see better walking paths. Food was also not great. Access pool bar wasn't open. breakfast practically with no changes day to day. when you are coming for 3-5 days - it's adequate, but quests, travelling for 2 weeks may become crazy. not equipped beach, sunbeds are close to swimming pool only. More than 2 hours transfer from Krabi not advised on the site. cost in private car 5,600 THB, really expensive. Beds are not very comfortable . Restaurant is not very attractive so need to go out of the hotel - Saladan 5 minutes tuktuk from there. Hilly. Far from the beach (15 mn by foot) Prohibitive prices (espacially the breakfast and restaurant). Location wise a little away from the town. steep hills and no hotel beach, when they advertise that they have 2 stung private beaches. Well you can not swim in them, so this is false advertising. Breakfast was cheap. concerning to value for money, there are better hotels in Long Beach than Crown Lanta. It needs a good updating. It could be stunning. The staff were quite difficult to work with, while nice enough, they got our orders wrong numerous times and did not explain certain costs to us properly. Also, the cost of food and drinks at the resort were completely overcharged and not worth it. The food was horrible. No hot water in the shower for more than 2 minutes. Rooms smell extremely musty. Beds have only a box spring, not a mattress. My biggest issue is that this place is touted as a 4 star when really it's a 2.5. Beach is awful.
