We loved staying at this hotel. It is down a street with loads of massage parlors, popular street food stalls and a couple of bars. The hotel is quite modern, and the staff were helpful. There is a bar and swimming pool on the top floor, which remain open until 11pm - great for a night swim right in the middle of the city. The room was very nice, not too large, with an ensuite bathroom with shower only. It is pretty and very clean. The bed is super, super comfortable. The hotel has a mid-range .
all reviews » Upon arrival I was upgraded to an executive room courtesy of the management. I arrived quite late and was hungry and there was no where open to grab something to eat, and one of the 'bellboy's' took me to a convenient store a few blocks away in the hotels tuk-tuk. Now That's a service :) Hotel is in an excellent location, minutes walk from Asok station. If I were to return to Bangkok, there is no hesitation that I would return to Park Plaza Soi 18. Although situated in the busy part of town, th. Arriving in the heat of afternoon, we were greeted with a glass of cold, freshly squeezed juice at check-in, and, as a gay couple, being provided a double bed room without even having to ask or feel any awkwardness in the air is such a relief. That set the tone. The staff is professional and very friendly. The hotel and the room itself is of nice design, functional and in top shape. The location, at a quiet Soi just a short walk to both Skytrain and Metro which takes you anywhere you need to go. Have stayed at Park Plaza several times and it is consistently good. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotless, the Internet is fast, (and free), and there is a good range of toiletries supplied. The location is perfect, down a quieter street, but only a 5 minute walk to the BTS. This hotel provides excellent value for money in a mid range hotel. The location within the city is perfect. It is nearby the sky train and the big malls, restaurants etc. On the other hand it is located in a quiet environment. Check-in is fast and the housekeeping are very well trained. We asked for a direct bus to Siem Reap and were told it was not existing, while in fact it does since a few months! Jacuzzi on 8th floor was too cold to be used. Bangkok traffic is very slow and because the weather was warm and humid we seldom walked very far. Corporate events and tour groups meetings take place at the hotel, turning Mezzo lounge and restaurant in a meeting place; as a result, it is often busy and does not make it easy if you want to work and/or just chill out. View was of an apt building only 20 feet away. Need to keep the blinds closed all the time. The room could have been cleaner, some surfaces were dusty. Not the cheapest but you get great value for the money you pay. I love this hotel and the staff! :-) Been there 3 times already, in total about 15 nights. The TV is not so attractive especially on international channel. Did email before arrival to ask about the average fare of taking public taxi to the hotel. However, their reply is 'not more than 1000baht'. Which I found not helpful at all. Nothing. I'll never get used to this trend of windows and glass doors between between bathroom&toilet and main room. What happened to good old privacy? ;-). Nout. No view. View from the cheaper rooms is poor and over looked. The maid knocking on the door of my room rather early asking if I want laundry done. Nil. Room was not available when we arrived at 2pm. Made to sit by pool without a complimentary drink. Finally complained to management who found us a room! Could do better. nothing it was perfect. Nothing. I paid the fee aready, however, the check-in time is really slow. I think they should prepare the keys in advance for our team. nothing. Wireless is not stable. My only complaint was the inside seemed a bit dark. Dark floors and furniture and low lighting. No problems at all. Room not ready for check in at normal check in time, cases took a long time to get up to room once we had checked in (over an hour), little things like turn down service that was advertised was not done. The 'double' bed in my room was two single beds pushed together. With a small gap between the two separate mattresses, the sleep quality could have been better. Nothing. Dim lighting and smell at corridor not fresh. Cold showers No late check out available.
