Almost everything, clean and cozy room, comfortable bed, shower with constant hot water, friendly staff, location near Asok, free internet. All my requests have been fulfilled except of broken scales. The hotel is new and is better to stay than in classier Rembrant on the opposite side. Be aware of laundry lady knocking on everybody's door w/o do not disturb sign. Beautiful clean new facility with a very comfortable bed, beautiful shower and bathroom. All the the main essentials in the kitchen that I use daily like an electric jug to make tea and coffee whenever I want. Massive fridge freezer. Big tv with many channels in thai and english. This is where I will stay everytime I stay in Bangkok, even if it is only overnight.
all reviews » One of my favourite hotels in Bangkok, I've stayed at Oakwood several times. Staff are very service minded. Hotel is on quiet Sukhumvit soi 18, not far from BTS and MRT stations. Best restaurant in Bangkok is just 50 m further down the soi - name is Rendezvous, look for two small "bambu huts" on the sidewalk (closed on tuesdays). The hotel is fairly recent and the design is modern yet functional. Service is excellent with staff who speaks English well and are willing to go the extra mile to accomodate clients need. Location is great as it is conveniently located to BTS Asoke, yet far enough from the hecticness of Sukhumvit. Nice clean apartment. Friendly staff who allowed early check in after an early morning flight. Near Asok station and only a few minutes from Sukhumvit. If you are staying in BKK I suggest you stay on Soi 20 or lower numbers. It was perfect for my last two days in Bangkok, from Location to Amenities and comfort. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional and the Apartment was everything one needed. The soi was too narrow with frequent jams on the way to Sukhumvit, my thai friend commented that the place was not parking-friendly. It was very nice to find scales in the bathroom,even though they did not work,i asked to repair them but they remained broken. I found the place a bit pricey. I made a mistake when booking, I booked for just one person altough we are a couple. Even though we are returning guests the staff were not able to offer a decent deal on additional breakfast, we were only offered breakfast coupons for one person. We decided not to eat at the hotel at all, bought breakfast at Foodland in soi 16 and ate in the room - much cheaper and more comfortable. The mattresses that are as hard as stone. Something needs to be done there, adding soft toppers for comfort. Only negative point, but an important one. Our backs and bones hurt every morning !. Nothing to not like!. The only thing, which we didnt like was the smell of the elevator, was moldy-like. Room servicing needs a bit more attention - empty water in the gym - running out of toilet paper int he room - all basic stuff but important. Nothing. The wifi speed connection could be better. Some redesigning might be considered on the bathroom, as the shower partition doesn't necessarily do much covering to prevent the other part of bathroom to be all wet. breakfast choices a bit limited for western palate. They didnt change the sheets for 3 days!. pet fee - $100 for two nights.
