The room and bathroom were small and plain, but clean: very comfortable bed, good heat, strong and hot shower. Other good features: good breakfast with eggs, meat, cheese, bread, etc.; coffe and tea available all day; friendly staff who went out of their way to help; convenient location. very good place, staff is nice, price is nice ,too. hotel staff, rooms, comfort, value of money.

Bathroom smells strongly and is very used/old. The stairs!!! ;-) But on the other hand, it's part of Amsterdam...Youhave to experience it once in a while ;-). windows should open more,and they should cancel the anti smoking policy. We lived on fourth floor and there was no lift so we had to climb vertical stairs. There was mouse in a room and hear on the floor.Very unclean shower.Room size extremely small, no any phone in the room, high audibility. Stinky, bathroom uninviting, key to front entrance not working. I found were the stairs, being on the third floor the stairs were very steep and the bed was not nice. The breakfast wasn't very exciting. The hotel was run down and dirty. Although we had a private bath, the shower drained onto the floor which made the entire bathroom soaking wet for the whole day. The tiles had black mold on them. The room needed a renovation, not just a good cleaning.I think they charge fair price for waht you get, it's just that guests will expect more from the way it is advertised especially if it's one's first time to go to europe. Bed too soft, room cleaning could be better. hygiene, bedsheets. pillows, blankets. bathroom tiles had mould on them and walls in bedroom showed where damp had come through. It was a very low quality hotel, the price per room was too high. Very bad breakfest and did not give normal bill but written with hand!. Price was too high for what you got. They didn't make our room up oneday.The room was not up to my expectations as it was TINY.There were no (tea/coffee) facilities in the room and it was non-smoking (this was requested as a booking requirement).There was a surprise extra 5% charge for paying by card.The 'continental breakfast' was very basic. I paid alot of money to stay in this hotel and don't feel I got value for money,It provided hostel facilities for hotel prices. Loud, drunk British partyers; stench of smoke in the breakfast room; paper thin walls.It was more like a hostel, except that we had our own tiny bathroom. It was very noisy - both outside (as expected but also inside. Although smoking was not allowed in the rooms, it was allowed elsewhere in the hotel, letting the smell go into other areas. The bed was broken and after asking 3 times for it to be sorted, we were given a foldout bed... A total disappointement. Theroom was located in the basement. I could not sleep at all due to the continuous noise; tram passing by, you can even hear the people walking nearby. First of all, I was forced to pay in advance and with a 5% increase in the price because I paid with credid card. This was not explained in the conditions of my booking. Next, the room and the building were in no good conditions. When having breakfast, there were ants running all over my table. Open electric cables in the room, missing lamps, difficult access stairs. Those are some things. Extremely cheap and uncomfortable beds, the sheets had holes in and I was not convinced they were entirely clean. Its a dirty, uncomfortable hotel. The hall outside my room smelled of human waste as if a drain was burst, extremely uncomfortable stay.Extremely bad room - the size of a cabinet, very narroow bed even for a small person like me, torn bedsheets, brown diirty ceiling - everything bad - you name it - you have it. Everything. The hotel was filthy, run down and disgusting. Over priced and does not deserve even a single star rating.

An other option is catching a train from the airport to central station, from here please take tram 1, 2 or 5 and get out at the stop “Leidseplein”. From here walk into the street called Marnixstraat on your right and turn right again just before the first canal. Here you will find our hotel.
