Amazing hospitality! The Peaceful Cottage 'team' showed genuine care and concern. The room was clean, spacious, and the towels/sheets/quilt were very clean and fresh. The dinner was absolutely fantastic. The chef, whom we called Facebook (because of the T-shirt he wore) treated us to the best chicken Momos and egg Thukpa we've had in a long long time. all reviews » They say people makes a place. This is certainly true with Peaceful Cottage. Have travelled to over 30 countries and no place beats the friendliness and hospitality of this place. Stayed in the new wing where rooms are big with partial views of the Himalayas. Great roof terrace where I could've spent a whole day sitting there admiring the beautiful range. Manager Caron is a legend. He provides personalized service to all guests. We did a morning jog with a few others on my 1st day. Later we've . The room is clean. There is a warm quilt filled with down. It is very considerable to put a soft fleece inside the quilt. The hotel is in very good location to see the sunrise and star. They offer good food here. They also offer fresh milk in the morning. If there is any problem with wifi, Ram, Wifi Master, always helps. Caron cares all guests' requests and suggestions. The staffs are very friendly,helpful and always smile . The food is simple and delicious. I stayed in economy room and the room is clean and very comfortable.This hotel has great view for the sunrise over Himalaya mountains. Special thanks to the hotel manager, Caron. He gave me a good advice for my itinerary in Pokhara. On top of this he helped me to get a domestic flight ticket with a very good price. He also spent his precious time to showed m. It is a wonderful place to stay.The staffs are very hospitable. The younger manager can speak Chinese and is very willing to give guest the trip advice. The Peaceful Cottage has a great view of nearly all Himalaya mountains. On the big terrace people can get great view while take coffee or meal. Exellent location, almost on the top of Sarangkot, splendid views, nice balcony with tables and a rooftop-wievpoint. The room itself is very big and as well as the bathroom. If you go to the roof top you can see the mountains and sunset/sunrise! You don't have to go to the view point. Also the food was awesome! The water is too cold for showering at times. We just don't like the room #201. only prob is no hot water my two son's stuggled to wash with cold water .They offered us bucket full of hot water. No heater in the room. Bathroom a little old looking but a lot better than other small hotels in that area. Hot water is not hot enough..need to improve.. We would have prefered to have the both rooms in the same building. Even though the weather was chilly, we decided to go for the cold-water option as this looked more appealing. We were in December, so it was cold!!! I was sleeping with clothes and in the sleeping back, then it was OK. There was no warm or hot water and rooms were dump (wet). The basement of the hotel was finished and that was were we stayed, but the building we stayed in was not finished!!! So it was more building site... But I suppose that's normal for Nepal, you can't expect European standards. Plus accomodation was really cheap, so you get what you pay for. Some of the staff lacked training and/or motivation. They cancelled our 2 double rooms without notification which we booked, that was very painful experience, and we were unable to find any room at that time at any hotels and stayed one night in a room at the peaceful cottage where construction was not finished. There is no hot water at all. Very limited option for heating room, even in December. Bathroom have no heating at all. Bed sheets were not quite clean. There is no option to pay with any type of credit or debit card. Only cash payment is option. Staff do not speak english. It was not kept as clean as could be and for price, it should have been better repaired. There was no cupboard or toilet seat or room cleaning despite paying 40 us a night for a double room. The cooking was not good - especially anything not Nepali. Even the eggs for breakfast were sweetened with honey or something sweet. Over priced for season and offering, in my opinion. Although we had booked a "mountain view room" we had a room in the annexe which is practically a building site with an adjacent rubbish dump, trhe rooms have new furniture but the walls are damp and the shower is not really hot. The staff are trying to be friendly but their lack of English is the source for many problems, the meals are served rather late and incomplete. They cash in on their mountain view but there is nothing that matches the glossy photos on their website.
