We loved the design of the hotel, huge rooms with gorgeous bathroom, great position near main shopping and business area of Windhoek, friendly and efficient staff, great breakfast, stunning view of Windhoek from bar and pool deck on 9th floor. No free Wifi in rooms. Health Spa. Highly recommended. The hotel is centrally located with the shopping centre close by. The staff are generally very friendly and everywhere is very clean. Reasonable value for money although the pool is very small and other amenities somewhat limited compared with other 5 star international hotels.
all reviews » The decor and design of the hotel was very modern and stylish. Breakfast was great with a lot of choice. Other then the few things I mentioned it is a great hotel, all other staff were great and very friendly. The food is very nice and good value of money, I like especially the breakfast. I love the sky bar at 9 floor and the hotel is one of the best in windhoek. I liked everything. I stayed in the presidential suite which was just so superb. The staff is friendly and their reception area is so relaxing. Sky bar and views were amazing. Staff were friendly and very helpful. overall a great place to start our holiday in Etosha and Namibia. Did manage to let us book into our room at 8am after a 10 hour flight from Frankfurt, inspite of official book in time of 3pm. Loved the garden room with its own rock garden veranda and outside seating ... sunny room with a feel of extravagance ... I loved the room, the views from the room as well as from the sky bar! Absolutely luxurious hotel!. Excellent service, nice design, superb breakfast and very decent restaurant. Everything ...like the frindlyness, the location, etc... Very relaxing, comfortable. Hotel location, facilities and breakfast. Modern design. No free wifi in rooms. Reception can be understaffed at times so be prepared to wait! It's a shame they do not offer free internet access ( costs for example185 NAD per day) as is the general practice in 5 star hotels. the view from our room on the 6th floor was horrible. was not of the city centre like we expected. Hot breakfast option everything was cold would have been great hot. Reception staff were clueless and grumpy when I pointed out that breakfast was included in our nightly rate. Minibar had limited stock of drinks should include Tafel Larger. One of the receptionist was not so friendly when I approached to her to explain why I had an extra charge to my room prior to my check out, also the internet is very expensive. Nothing. nothing to mention. Wouldn't honour Hilton Honors card scheme that was opened in 1988. Not a serious problem but made an amusing conversation point with the syaff all unborn when I first stayed at a Hilton. Breakfast ordered as part of room service did not arrive at all ... asked for it to be served the following day and it arrived with an empty coffeepot !. We were on the 6th floor, but you could still hear the music from the club below the hotel. Construction site around and not very nice immediate surrounding.Too many individuals who were not hotel guests sometimes wander around...The car rental agency - Dollar and Thrifty - in the lobby is a scam - very unreliable and unfriendly - but it is not run by the hotel itself. The door at the parking bay is always dirty... ...the shower (room 111) was blocked... couldnt have a proper shower at all... otherwise thumbs up. When we went to pay, there were costs for room service etc. Although we did use room service a couple of times, there was not cost breakdown for what it was accually for and how much each thing cost. Shower drain didnt work properly. housekeeping staff dont do their work properly needs to improve and better supervision. We had a confirmation for 2 rooms with 2 beds. Unfortunately these rooms were not available at our arrival and we were checked in two rooms with one bed. This was not ideal as we our grandfather with us which had to sleep in the same bed... - Really unbelievable were many things, breakfast every day different, from good till bad - communication between staff very bad, so that agreement for extra payment for late check out, was not put in computer - they just closed down the pool because of a private party - on arrival: our safe was not working, toilet not flushing, shower water was not going away and so on so on... they charge a fortune for the use of Wifi... unacceptable fee... Rooms feel claustrophobic, not much natural light. Staff seem incapable of responding to any non standard requests. The local staff is not ok !. I would like to point out that our room had a set of 4 towels: 3 of them were used by the previous guest, I called room service, they told me that it would be sorted out. An hour later no answer. the mini bar wasn’t full, one day later the mini bar was still empty. The garage exit wasn’t working, I needed to go to the reception 2 times to get them to open the garage for me I complained at the reception, there was no apologise nothing! The bill was the same! This isn’t a 5* service. over priced for quality.

Travelling information

From Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport: - Turn right into the B6 and follow the road into Windhoek. - This becomes Sam Nujoma Drive. - Continue through Klein Windhoek crossing Nelson Mandela and Robert Mugabe Avenue. - On approaching Windhoek city center, you will clearly see the Hilton Hotel situated on your right, on the corner of Reverend Michael Scott Street & Sam Nujoma Drive as well as Independence avenue. - The distance is approximately 42km’s from Hosea Kutako International Airport and driving time is approximately 35 minutes. From Cape Town Airport: - Continue onto the N1. - Take the N7 northwards towards Namibia which will merge onto the B1 after approximately 670 km, on entering Namibia at the border. - Continue on the B1 for approximately 800 km’s before turning right onto John Meinert Street. - After 200m take the first left turning onto Mandume Ndemufayo Street. - Mandume turns right and becomes Bahnhoff Street. - Continue for approximately 300m and turn left at Independence Avenue where you will see Hilton Windhoek. From Johannesburg: - Continue onto the A2 for about 750 km’s. - Then continue onto the A3 entering Namibia for another 60 km’s. - Turn onto the B6 and continue on this road until turning right at Sam Nujoma Drive. - Continue for 4 km’s and turn right at Robert Mugabe Avenue then left at Bahnhoff Street. - After driving approximately 200m take the first right turn onto Independence Avenue.
