I stayed here when I had a sportive event which was held nearby. Here are a few positive things I would like to share:- 1) Staff - The moment you step in the staff are extremely helpful 2) Bike Storage :- They have a huge secure carpark to store your bikes which I love 3) Food Map :- ask for food map ! They will assist you in finding the best food in Ipoh ! 4) Room Size: I've booked the room without window but the room was spacious and most importantly clean . !.
all reviews » It's great value for money. Rooms are clean and perfectly adequate. Parking facilities available. 7-11 right next door and Pusing Seafood Restaurant just behind the hotel. Breakfast at the cafe was surprisingly nice. Didn't expect such a quaint cafe in a hotel like this. Ladies at the reception were very helpful in giving out directions to places of visit. Staff is willing to go extra miles - Feel like home because the front desk staff care for my family and me in heavy rain. They walked out of the hotel with umbrella to offer help proactively and suggested workaround solution to ensure I can walk in without hassle. Small steps, but lasting impression and well done to the team. Five STARS services. Superb!. French Hotel is rated as a 2-star hotel, but it offers facilities and services for a 4-star hotel. We stayed in the most luxerious room (still a bargain to western standards) and had all we could wish for, except a fridge. Free wifi, safe, good bed, flatscreen tv, it's all there. Great place for a stay in iPoh (well worth visiting for the cave temples). The bed was really comfortable! It was easy to walk to all the major food spots (5 minutes walking or so and you will reach the famous Ipoh Bean Sprout Chicken, Lou Wong) and the in house cafe Jose & Deli is a really cool vintage-inspired hang out that serves an delicious chocolate mint cake! *prices are a bit high for Ipoh standards, though*. the services given at the reception were great with detailed information, friendly staffs and fast processing time. The room itself was well-decorated, clean and fully-equipped. The most impressive thing is that I saw a hair-dryer in a pretty basket on the room's table right after i entered the room which I requested here. The hotel is well kept. The room was well maintain and the housekeeping was excellent. The receptionists were very helpful and polite during our stay. The hotel can be reached by Peraktransit bus no 116 from Amanjaya stop is next block on Jalan Raja Musa Aziz which was hardly known to people including the staff. Great location, parking nearby is free ONLY if you have the voucher issued by the front desk. Make sure you get the voucher first before entering the car park. Rooms are new, very clean, very comfortable, breakfast options limited, but no complaints about taste. Cafe is also very well-designed and decorated. It was very near to Main food street. Opposite there is Pizza Hut and within 5 min distance there is mc Donald. Parking is free but not on site, 2 minute distance. Get the voucher from the hotel. Breakfast was ok, the waiter speak simple English only. Hotel also provide a food map at the lobby. Must try out!. Very nice hotel in the center of Ipoh. It`s more of a business type of accomodation then travellers. The staff was very helpful organizing us a tour to Cameron highlands. We also received many other helpful informations about where to eat and which places of interest to see in the city. The hotel is very clean and we have the impression that the lobby is cleaned all the time. For the breakfast you can choose between several kinds of breakfast. The room and also the bed is very large. The bathroom is well equiped. Located in the town where most of the nice local food are in walking distance. The interior of this hotel is beautiful yet comfortable. Compact and fully equipped. They provide us with maps for historical places and best food in town. I will come here again. Staff Anniebell, though a part-timer, was very courteous and made our check-in very pleasant. Coz after walking outside the whole day you would like to have a nice cold drink while relaxing in the room. There are still many rooms of improvement for F&B provided in French Hotel. The cafe is nice, just that the food options are too few, only 3 types were give. Maybe they should try for buffet style?. The room rate could be lower by excluding the breakfast as I would prefer having it at the various coffeeshops around the hotel. Peraktransit bus No 116 from Amanjaya stop one block away at Jalan Raja Musa Aziz, hardly people knew about it including the hotel staff. Sunday was difficult to find parking due to the memory lane and morning market. Crowded on the street. Because the many one way streets it takes some time before you reach the hotel. 1) the carpark is in the open. Set breakfast. Only 3 choices. Nasi lemak with very little sambal, even after requests for extra. Definitely not sufficient for Malaysians!. nothing. The rooms were claustrophobically small and no windows did make it worse (for my wife). In all fairness, we were aware but didn't realize that it would be that cramped until we entered the room. It's situated few streets from the foodstuff tt ipoh is famous for although within 20 mins' walking. And lotsa indians staying near the hotel. Nothing. Nothing. Some front desk staff struggled with English. All pillows given were too high to sleep on. None. Although the hotel is new and modern, I feel that the price is a bit on the high side. Parking in morning market on Sunday morning.... Need to make sure not boxed in. not exactly soundproof.. can hear people outside talking out loud... The breakfast, not many choices. - if there is a fridge inside the room will make it to be perfect. breakfast at jose and deli too slow..we went out without having our breakfast after waiting more than 30minutes ...there were only 3 tables with guest.. Nothing. The breakfast was not that nice...but it was okay. Only 2 choices for breakfast. Breakfast! Called American breakfast, has to be booked in advance, no fruit juice, no fruits, no toast, nor butter or jam, one cup of light coffee only, have to pay for another cup. And two pieces of garlic bread, yes, garlic, early in the morning!. Slightly noisy, especially in the morning as cleaning starts relatively early and sounds from the corridor can be heard easily. Limited choice on breakfast, they come by set meal. N/a. Traffic noise from outside. Breakfast has to be chosen day before and is very basic. The breakfast place can be better with choices.
