One of the best things about the hotel (and there are many) is the customer service. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly and they went out of their way to ensure that our stay went well (without being overbearing) - the hotel owner is very proactive in chatting to guests and making sure their needs are being met. On our final day they confirmed our bus reservation for us and allowed us use of showers in the pool area after we had checked out to freshen up after a day at Petra. Good.
all reviews » The title of the review says what we were told independently by several staff members and one of the owners himself - it seems to be like the hotel's mission statement. Having spent two nights at the place, we found staff and services amazing and we would certainly come back when returning to Petra. People are friendly, the hotel offers lunchboxes and other services at reasonable prices, there are free shuttles to the visitors' center in the morning and late afternoon, the pool is an appreciate. The staff at this hotel are very warm and welcoming without being overbearing. The man at the front desk was very helpful and informative and during dinner the owner made rounds to the tables and offered complimentary tea. The rooms are by no means extravagant but are clean and very comfortable (especially the beds!) If you have done a Turkish bath in Turkey, the one here might seem smaller and not as comprehensive but it was still really enjoyable, and again, great staff there. We came by car. The staff was fabulous. Something that impressed us was they were always smiling and pleasant with not just those staying at the hotel but also with one another. The staff treated us incredibly well. They helped us make travel arrangements to Aqaba and then arranged for an incredible later check out time to accommodate our travel. One of us is celiac and at each meal the chef went over what dishes were safe and which were not. Each evening at dinner the owner/manager came by and welcomed diner. Amazing hotel which exceeded our expectations. Location is central, close to the bus station. Free shuttle to Petra visitors center is available 3 times in the morning and evening. Staff is very friendly and really cares. Rooms are clean, spacious with huge comfortable double bed, quiet & effective air-conditioning and free wi-fi. Very nice undercover pool. Excellent breakfast (you can have a seat outside on a terrace) with lots of choices. We also had dinner (10 JD per person incl. taxes). I and my wife stayed there one night.we would like to stay more.it had perfect location.it was walking distance to downtown of petra and the Staff was just great.they were very friendly and helpful.the receptionist Hasan and the doorman( i do not remember his name unfortunately) were so nice.Hasan explained every detail.The room was good and bed was very comportable.we had dinner there and it was very succesful.we also want to thank for comlimentary turkis coffess to the responsibles at the res. The room was nice and comfortable, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small but functional and the shower was very good. The swimming pool was great, we really enjoyed it after walking all day in Petra. The breakfast was good. The location is great, short drive to Petra and shuttle service. The packed lunches were a good option to take to Petra as the food there is quite expensive and the supermarkets don't sell many things. The personnel is nice, very helpful and professional, in particular the manager of the hotel was very lovely and helpful, and gave very good advice and tips to organise the visit of Petra or Wadi Rum. The heated swimming pool and jacuzzi are a real delight after a long day of walk. They also propose a Turkish bath for a very competitive price. I will recommend this place for all travellers, whether solo traveller or couples or families. Wadi Musa is not some big metropolis with 5 star hotels--it is all about Petra and the amazing sites and history. That being said, Amra Palace was a great value, clean, and comfortable. It has been updated fairly recently. Breakfast was good, the dining room was beautiful, and the staff helpful. The pool and hot-tub felt great after long days of hiking. We had stayed in a Bedouin camp overnight and were arriving early so phoned and asked if a room would be available as early as 10am, so we could shower before heading to Petra. They made sure this was possible. The food was good and varied an extremely reasonably priced. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel very clean. Not a perfect stay--the lock on the door to my room broke trapping in me in the room, and initially my tv wouldn't work--but the measure of a good hotel is how promptly and attentively crises are solved, and by that measure the Amra Palace passed. The Arma Palace Hotel is a family run hotel, the personal service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, additional requests for services were provided without fuss. I like the Amra Palace and stayed at it for the third time last Friday. It's good for a Petra/Wadi Musa/Shobak base and also good if you need a place to stay on your way back to Saudi Arabia from northern Jordan. Perfect : nice building, garden and terrace. Kind staff and very clean and comfortable room. Nice view. Good food (the menu is a bit limited, as elsewere in Jordan) and correct price. Absolutely to recommend. If you want to walk to the Petra site, it is 20 minutes down the hill to reach the entrance (and a harder 20 minutes back up the hill after a long day!) - that said, the hotel lays on shuttle buses at key times and taxis are inexpensive and easily obtained (pay no more than 2-3jd each way). No serious complaints. The food for dinner was decent, but not spectacular. Nothing. The hotel could do with a renovation, nothing major, but some spaces would benefit from some renewal. Problems come up anywhere. WiFi went out on our second day and hot water was on the cool side one night. If I ever get another chance to go to Petra and Wadi Musa--Amra Palace would still be where I'd stay. Mini-bar prices a little high relative to everything else. There was little storage in the room, though this was not a problem as we were only staying two nights. The doors close noisily so if you are a light sleeper you may notice this from morning time. Ate there both nights I stayed. The buffet my second night was good, but the limited a la carte menu my first night was one of the worst meals I had in Jordan. Lesson: only eat in the hotel if they're offering the full buffet. Bring earplugs - there is a mosque next door... :-). We were in the hotel for two nights; the first evening, we wanted to buy the dinner buffet as told by the hotel manager, but in the evening there was no buffet and nobody couldn't explain why; a little lack of coordination of the staff inside an overall more than positive experience. Nothing to report. The bathroom in our room could need an upgrade although it was clean. Everything was 100% fine!!!!!. There is nothing not to like. Nothing negative. nothing really. Ac thermostat would not work. Room a bit small (though clean and comfortable bed) Breakfast and Dinner buffet is rather limited. A bit smaller room. Net disconnects repeatedly. The bathroom is a little small and could use some upgrades. Turkish baths is a bit full on, very vigorous scrubbing and massage!!. pillows too hard no fresh fruit for bkfst. Nothing. No English tv. One day the hot water did not arrive,,maybe I had to wait longer but I prefer to save water and take a cold shower. Food is average. No tea/coffee making facility in the room, air conditioning not too efficient, not enough English language channels on the TV, we found two out of over 500 available. Nothing. Nothing. Was surprised that the bathroom did not have a bidet. No plug in bath!. AC and hairdryer didn't work.
