The hotel was clean. Staff were friendly. They could speak in English better than several others. There is free water and ice on first floor. They provide night gown. Four elevators. When you get up in the morning, you would see lots of Japanese in business suit, getting ready to go to work. Only a few English speaking tourist. The shower has a handset you can use if you have special needs. There is a shuttle that takes you to the Shinagwa Station for free. It is limited to 6am to 10:30 am and .

One station on the Monorail takes you to Hamamatsucho station on the jr Yamanote Line (Note: For overseas visitors with Japan Rail(JR) Pass, Monorail and jr Yamanote Line can be used with the jr Pass) Taxi from Haneda International Terminal to hotel during late hours should cost around 5000 yen Shuttle bus from hotel to Shinagawa station every 15 mins ( Timings 6am - 1030am and then 3pm - 1am) Hotel . The 3 of us had a wonderful stay at Toyoko Inn, Shinagawa-ku. It was one of the most pleasant surprises of our recent vacation at Tokyo. The room and bathroom were clean, tidy and neat. The staff were courteous and a couple of them were English-speaking which made communication so much easier. The punctual shuttle bus from the hotel to the Shinagawa train station made travelling to the city very convenient. The monorail to Haneda Airport was only a 5-minute walk away. We would definitely stay . Check-in at midnight was smooth and quick. Comfy rooms and beds. Well equipped with good shower and very clean. Shuttle bus to Shinagawa station is very efficient and hotel about 5min walk to Tennozu Isle monorail station which goes to Haneda. Free breakfast is a pleasant surprise but can be crowded at peak times. A good option is 7e for snacks which is just around the corner. Overall, a good base to explore Tokyo. Commutation was quite easy. The frequency of the free shuttle bus was quite convenient. Also the monorail to Hamamatcho Station from Tennozu Isle is just a 5 minute walk. Some of the staffs speak fairly good English. If you are vacating the hotel but would be returning to stay after 2 or 3 days, you can leave behind your excess baggage at the lobby, and collect it on your return. That was quite customer-friendly. The Shinagawa Toyoko Inn is a fairly new (2 years old) building, and is well kept and clean. The rooms, while relatively small, are functional and comfortable. The included breakfast is a nice amenity, as is the free wifi and in-room wired connection (via the included rj-45 cable). Overall, this is a good choice for the budget conscious customer, whether for business or leisure travel. We liked the hotel since it wasn't expensive, was close to Haneda Airport, had four bedroom rooms and had a shuttle bus to Shinagawa station. Since it is easy to reach essential parts of Tokyo from Shinagawa Station, this meant that we got great value for our money. The hotel is situated near some really good restaurants and the monorail to Haneda airport. The breakfast is limited if you wish to eat western food (croissant/another type of bread/margarine/coffee/sausages/ju- ice). Nothing major. Should at least include one or two english channels on TV. The breakfast menu could have few variations - atleast a change on alternate days. For those who stay for a day or two, this may not matter. But it does for those who stay there for much longer. Food is quite good though. 2 things: 1) While the breakfast is a nice amenity, the exact same 5-item menu can be tedious after 3 days. Seems reasonble to have 2 alternating menus 2) The shuttle to/from the Shinagawa Station is nice, but also required -- the station is probably 1.5 Km away -- but the shuttle doesn't run between 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM, so one is forced to commit to a minimum of a 4.5 hr outing, else, take a cab. Why not offer a 1 per hour shuttle during this period?. 1) Need more staff who can speak universal language (English) for foreign visitors. 2) Extend the shuttle bus schedule time. 3) I booked 2 rooms but cannot get nearer. 1 in level 6, and the other in level 7 and quite far. Small bathroom. Staff do not really speak english. Be aware there is no shuttle bus between 10:30am to 3pm from hotel to Shinagawa JR station (and vice versa). 'dining hall' was effectively the lobby/check-in area (noisy and crawdy room, only Japan breakfast available);. The lack on the english communication staff had some difficulty in communicting. The check out time should be extended for customers who arrives late the day before departure. We booked here for 6 nights and they have only smokeroom, regrettably. A stinky story. We tried to change but the hotel was very busy this period. I would stay here again but in nonsmokieroom. Breakfast didn't have a great selection aside from hot coffee and water to drink. Some juice or milk would have been awesome. Check in was also a very slow procedure. 1. Staffs all unable to speak simple English 2. I left a big bag with my stuff in the bathroom and the room service lady apparently considered it to be garbage or something as the bag was missing when I returned to the room. However, the reception staff brought the bag back once I asked them to find out where it was. Room a bit small (first Japanese hotel we've stayed at so may be typical). Limited TV channels -both minor quibbles though. Beds & Pillows were very hard. No subway lines at vicinity, must connect by JR line before going to subway. Book two rooms this time, Room 220 don't have WIFI connection, Room 216 is OK. I had to make a phone call and went downstairs and was given wrong information on how to make a phone call from the room. I had to go downstairs 3 times before the staff member got it right. I don't like the fixed time given to check in after 10 pm. We have no control over the delay in our flights & baggage claims. We arrived at the hotel at 12 noon after two long flights from Ireland and the room was not available until 4 pm this was the longest four hours that we had to endure. they keep offering same breakfast everyday unlike the other Toyoko Inn Shinosaka which changes nanu everyday. attached bathroom but the door is without a lock. Even though wifi was available in-room and in-lobby, but the wifi is barely usable. We cannot connect to anything on hotel wi-fi. We had to use internet from our pocket wifi the whole trip. Also, we would like a more variety of breakfast food if possible. Reception staff is not helpful and one of the old staff who on duty on the mornign reject my request. But, there are few ladies with very good services as well. Need to improve those service attitude for the male staff, both old and young staff. room size waiting for check in - due to crowd.
