The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is actually a complex of 4 different buildings and each one has different amenities, E.G., our hotel didn't have an ice machine anywhere in the building but our friends who were staying in another building did have one. They also had free wi-fi and we had free ethernet (which doesn't do you much good with an iPhone or iPad). They stored our bags and our friends bags (10 of them) without a fee and without batting an eye.
all reviews » The hotel has many wings and rooms with different profiles. The cheaper ones are standard Japanese business hotels, i.e. very small, cheap, functional. The more expensive ones give more space and luxury. Both offer good (if not extraordinary) value for money IMHO. The unique selling point of this hotel is that it's a 3min walk from Shinagawa station from which you can get Shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka, and Yamanote for pretty much anywhere. Perfect location in Tokyo right next to the station.Ideal for Skinkansen arrivals or Narita Express. Yaminote circle line goes through station. McDonalds and SPAR shop on premises with plenty of cheap eating options. If you can get high level main building room - front of hotel faces station with great train rooms or at the rear Mount Fuji views. Ask the hotel before and they will always accomodate. We have stayed there 3 times. Nice rooms. Friendly and helpful staff and most of them could speak at least a bit of english. Taxis directly outside the hotel. Ethernet on the room, I've seen many people here complain about lack of WiFi on the room but personally I'd take ethernet over WiFi anytime so big plus for this. Good location, close to Shinagawa Station and many good restaurants. I chose this hotel for ease of access from the airport using the direct airport limo bus. arrival and check in couldn't have been easier. Great value for the money, easy access to subway and metro, and fabulous pool! Yes it's a big hotel, but with many elevators and efficient service, this wasn't an issue. I stayed on the 30th floor main tower. The personnel is great and helpful (both reception and guest relations). Free internet access for laptops (this changed from last year). Luggage store and airport services - helped me very much to organize my trip smoothly. Localization is perfect - close to the Shinagawa station and surrounded by a variaty of restaurants. Thank you!. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. The rooms were clean. There were a variety of restaurants, a movie theatre, a bowling alley and an aquarium at the hotel! This was a perfect location... Right across from the Shinagawa Rail Station, which made it easy to get to all the sights of the city! What an amazing city!. Friendly English speaking staff, they now have free wifi, u used to pay $5 a day for it, but now it's totally free. Lots of power outlets, it's conveniently 3minutes close to the jr so you can go anywhere in Tokyo. Lots of good restaurants literally outside the hotel, and a 7-11 corner store right outside. the hotel is just opposite the shingawa station after exit from the takanawa exit gate. I stayed at N-tower hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is newly renovated. Me and my family were happy with the rooms. Modern, comfort and clean! and the room size is small as expected Will visit again on my next trip. After an internet mistake by the hotel I booked rooms for 25 yen per night on letsbookhotel.com. After a month of negotiations the hotel honoured the rate in ineffect 6 people stayed 6 nights for just about free! How could I ever complain !. Convenience of the train station within walking distance was the best location wise. The activities available, i.e. aquarium, are excellent especially since we have kids. shopping and convenience stores were walking distance as well. Really great location! Very flashy exterior and lobby/reception area, my room didn't quite match up to that (the bathroom in particular was a fairly small pod type thing), but it is still a very decent hotel. Seems more like a business hotel. Next to the JR Shinagawa train station so we could travel easily. There were many restaurants in the area - japanese and american also. Staff spoke english. Airport and tour buses stopped at the hotel. Close to train station. N Tower's laundryroom avaliability was a plus. A little too busy in foyer and lift area. It would be good if there was notice that the entrance is through Wing Takenawa with no indication that this is the entrance from the jr Station. The receptionist is not very fluent English and knowledge of tourism in tokyo are also less. The hotel complex is confusingly large, more like a small town. The facilities are charmlessly utilitarian. Only had free LAN for internet in the room, and WIFI was available to rent (which was fine), but every day I asked to rent one, they were all rented out! Based on this alone, I probably would not stay in that hotel again unless I can guarantee WIFI in my room. Small rooms, no wifi, breakfast is not included into the price. Maiby the east tower is a bit old. I could feel the building shaking due to vibration of train under ground. Surprised that they do not offer wireless internet services for business travelers. I had to rent a dsl router for 500 yen a night, should be free! Rooms are very small, which I knew about since I stay there a lot, but true. Hard to move around the beds, etc. Very busy at all times Concierge desk not very helpful. Shinagawa is not good stop for shopping nor food. limited information about hotel and restaurants in English. Hotel restaurant food was nothing spectacular. Room size - smaller than ideal. I liked it all!. If you wait too long to book and end up in the East Tower, the rooms are very small (traditional Japanese rooms). The bathroom is tiny and the shower area height is barely 6 feet tall (bad if you are over 6 feet tall). Be prepared to pay extra for pool and other features that you are used to being free in U.S. Nothing. Breakfast - long lines, poor food. No big department stores around. Nothing. No free WiFi. The room was a litlle bit small, so would look for something else if were on holiday travelling with the family, but for business travel it was very good.
