What i liked most about Hyatt Regency is the location; excellent location, very close to Shinjuku station. And if you are not in the mood for the 5 minute walk to the station, there is the complimentary shuttle bus which leaves from the hotel every 20 minutes to Shinjuku station and Odakyu dept store. Their staff is great, very helpful, efficient and have good command of English. Since we have special dietary needs (halal food) the staff at the caffee were very understanding and helful and warn.
all reviews » Overall nice hotel. But a few points stood out. The Japanese staff were unfailingly polite and obliging. But my check-in was marred by a short Caucasian male concierge staff who cut the queue with another customer without apology. While the local staff were polite they did not hand over enough information such that I repeated myself three times about my Michel Troisgros booking. Access to pool and gym should not be restricted to Passport members but all guests!. The room was quite large, especially for Japan standards. The ac was quiet and easily adjusted, and in fact the room was quiet. Stunning lobby! Check in and out was quick and the staff helpful. Nicely located near Shinjuku park including great kids playground which was very nice for us. The Airport Limousine bus leaves directly from the hotel, and convenience stores, cafes and hotels are plentiful in and around the hotel. Late check out option (for a fee). The rooms were spacious and clean. Great location. The subway entrance was right out the front. Cafes and restaurants were near by as well as a great little supermarket. The streets were pleasant to walk around and we enjoyed walking through the nearby park/gardens. The staff were very helpful and spoke very good english. We stayed in a Regency Club room overlooking the park. THe Breakfast and cocktails were terrific. We loved the bathroom; the shower was awsome. The bed and room were very comfortable. The staff could not have been more accomodating. Short distance to Shinjuku station; about 850m. Spacious toilet. The facilities offered are as expected from such a well known brand. Room Service was good. The room, a deluxe room was very spacious and had wonderful views over Tokyo's skyline. Within walking distance to crowded areas, the access is pretty easy since they provide free shuttle bus. Staffs are friendly and willing to help even though with limited english. I have stayed in dozens of beds in Japan; being a regular traveller to Japan, and found this bed unacceptable, that left me with a sore lower back. Even my Japanese wife had a sore back. A thin futon on a tatami floor is more comfortable. Internet was not included (although not expensive to opt for at $4 a day), but room service was frightfully expensive. Our stay was too short!!!. Nothing. Old carpeting in the room. Location may be not ideal for a leisure trip as nothing really in immediate short walking distance. Access to airport for earlier than 9:30am flights can be quite tricky. Extra charge for using internet although its quite cheap. No free wifi. Lobby not bright. There were very few accessible power plugs in the room, those available were near the floor at the entrace of the room. Room service - cheese platter overpriced for tiny serve. It would be nice if breakfast spread includes kosher or muslim meat/poultry. Room cutlery is a bit basic. A bit expensive. Lack of proper wireless solution in 2013 is a bit frustrating. Who doesn't travel with a phone, ipad and or laptop these days? Waste of time to request a clunky dongle vs proactively expecting that every guest probably needs this. swimming caps are weird. wifi in the room not free and it didn't work properly when i paid 300 yen per day for it. The beds where a little hard. Breakfast , fruit choose poor But breakfast generally good. Food Extremely expensive, its just better to go out and there a number of places in walking distance (Most buildings in basement have restaurants) Location: Not the best for vacation/sight seeing. There are no attractions in the area. I didnt tv channels,not that much. Needs 10 mins walking to the nearest station. Lack of free wifi in the hotel,. Having to pay extra to use the gym or pool. Breakfast buffet was expansive and insufficient variety of fruits (3 items only- grapes, oranges and melon). Overall, a disappointing stay. The regency club room was far too small. Besides that, no twin beds available. I couldn't believe the hotel even charge for using the gym. I have never come cross this. Very bad!. facilities are quit old and need urgent upgrade particular in room. Paying 330 EUR for a room and the gym is not included !?. Price!. Being charged extra for using pool. Being charged extra for using gym. Being charged extra for using the joke called the business centre. Lack of pay to view movies. Poor english from most of the staff. Very old hotel, outdated, dull rooms, need wifi adapters, food is very average despite the prices.
