Sunroute hotel is very conveniently located near the Shinjuku jr station. Just 5 minutes walk from the station and you will see the hotel. The hotel is very new and it's not a small hotel. I appreciate the service from the staff. I have a special request to arrange for a twin room in the first night and a single room for 2 nights. They have arranged everything for me seamlessly. It's also the quieter side of Shinjuku which makes it less insane than say, Shibuya or the eastern side of Shinjuku. Twin beds are large and comfortable. PJs & room slippers provided. The entire hotel staff was friendly and very helpful with directions on how to get to all the favorite tourist attractions. It's location was only 2 blocks away from the Shinjuku station so it was very convenient to get in and out of, and around all of Tokyo by rail, metro and bus.The airport limo bus stops right at the hotel, an added plus. The room was petit but we knew that and after staying there a week we fit in nicely! That guest lounge was a lovely place to hang out and use the Internet. That staff were accommodating and it was a short walk to the JR station (and Starbucks and Krispy Kreme! [i don't have either of these where im from so it was a nice treat!]). The room is small,not much movable space (but the room serves it's function). I booked Economy Double Room, the bed is smaller than a normal Queen bed. The width is about 2 pillows put together. 2. TV programmes - no free inhouse movie. All TV programmes in Japanese. 3. No radio channel. 4. Limited space in vanity top (toilet) to place toiletries. The room is small with no closet, so you need to store your dress in luggage on the floor and then there is no place to step in the room. But we managed it well so it wasn't a big problem. I wonder why there is shaving cream available instead of in the double bed room. My only two issues were nonetheless pretty vital: No wifi in the rooms. I didn't like that people could smoke in the bar, but that's a Japan thing, not really much to do with the hotel. Fridge isn't as cold as it should be. Dryer is not as hot as it should be. The rooms are claustrophobic. But this is common in Tokyo. Room was too small for 2 even for a economy double room. They didnt even provide bottled drinking water in the room. Lack of tea spoon in the room and no instant coffee served in the room. Only matcha. Which taste good too. Considering how busy & highly used this hotel is, I'm slightly surprised there are some counter staff who do not commute in English especially with many international visitors. Wished there was a pickup service at Shinjuku station especially for those with heavy luggage who cannot lug them across 4 streets to the hotel from the station. Small single rooms, if you are solo and need space go for a twin or double room. No wifi in rooms only cable connection which if free, wifi only availabel in reception. Not good for those without cable port applications. Slow wifi speed (use one common password for every room) Easily clogged toilet Automatic toilet seat- low quality water spray, no heating seat No body lotion in toilet (but had shaving solution instead) No complimentary drinking water. No Japanese style baths, this is a business hotel. Room is very small. No space for two big luggages (not hand carried size). No water provided. No wi-fi in room, only lan socket provided, and have to log in at the lobby only. If want to watch International TV channel, have to pay extra. Room was a little small, but that is expected of a hotel in Japan.
