  An extremely well-designed (but small and compact) hotel. Very friendly staff - knowledgeable and helpful and really kind. We've stayed in 4 hotels over the past 10 days in Japan and this is easily the best; much better than the place we stayed in Kyoto for 1.5 times the price. If you want to visit Kyoto AND Nara, just stay here and do a day trip ... what people say » (or day trips) to Kyoto, it will work out cheaper and more interesting. This place is spotlessly clean, really nice - but still homely. Games, playst - One of the best places that we stayed at. Incredibly cheap, and absolutely amazing value for the price. The room was really cute and cozy and the futons were really comfy. The wifi was good and reliable, and they also had desktops and printers available in the common room, as well as free reading material, tea and coffee facilities, maps and a kitchen. It's really close to the station - within walking distance, even with large and heavy suitcases. The staff there were what really made our stay

  The owner was very friendly. He bought out two beautiful kimonos and a pair of samurai swords for us to try on and had mirrors positioned to get great reflective shots of my wife in the kimono. The local shopping mall, and huge "Gourmet" food store was a great place to buy last minute travel presents. A little nearby coffee shop/vint - The owner was extremely nice and helpful. It was fun to stay on a tatami mat and have an onsen like bathroom. You can't beat the price and it was a short cab ride into the main park in Nara.

  The man who runs the guest house speaks very good English. He and his wife are doing a great job running this hostel. I find the location perfect because right next to the station, so easy to access with the bags. Nara isn't a big city so it's totally fine to walk to the spots.   It was cozier than I expect it to be! The owner is super friendly and helpful. Great experience of living in traditional japanese home with kotatsu! Will definitely come back and stay here should I come to visit Nara. - It was a nice atmosphere and the traditional Japanese style to the place was welcoming.
