One of the reasons that made me book the Antiche Figure Hotel in Venice was its proximity to Santa Lucia station, as I would be arriving in the night train from Paris. But I just realized how close it really is when I left the station and saw its nice building on the other side of Grand Canal, which could be easily reached by Ponte Degli Scalzi. This is also great if you intend to rent a car after your stay – Piazzale Roma is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. My family and I had a very warm r.
all reviews » I would definitely recommend this beatiful hotel to anyone - especially couples- planning to visit Venice. It is very convieniently located on the Grand Canal just opposite the reailway station. This is especially important if you are arriving by train from other cities in Italy. If you chose to fly to Venice directly you can take the bus form airport which stops at 5 min away from the hotel. And the vaporetto is likewise just departs in front of the railway station. But despite the proximity . Great location away from St. Marco Square and all the tourist hustle and bustle yet well within walking distance. Two minute walk to the vaporetto stop - easy to navagate. The staff was absolutely sensational, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is on the smaller side which makes it more personal and for me, much better. Breakfast was most complete and enjoyable, there were tables set up both inside as well as outside so one could pick either location. We drove to Venice and parked our car at. Staff were great, nothing too much trouble, map and advice to enjoy the visit smoothly, upgrade to to newly renovated bnbn mn Staff really helpful, on arrival a map and instructions for main sights given, nothing too much trouble. Given newly refurbished room in annex with all essentials, very good continental breakfast. Central location on canal, near river bus, bus/coach from airport,opposite rail station, gondolas and walking distance to main sites. Boat trip to Murano island- worth a visit. Perfect location! Friendly staff, I did spend a lot of time at the table available to their guest by the grand canal , good breakfast was serve there by a staff that seem very happy to serve you. Cappuccino café was excellent! They kept our luggage the last day so we did not have to carry them. We felt like guest in their home! A big plus is that you don't have to take the Vaporetto if you arrive by car ( Piazale Roma, not Tronchetto) or train and have to carry your luggage, it's a 5 min. walk. The staff at the desk was amazing - great recommendations for dinner, lunch, best places to go to see touristy and non-touristy things, great directions on how to get places with maps. I only wish I remembered his name! Location was perfect... not too far a walk from anything you could want to see, but away from the super touristy areas / noise - and a very easy to walk with luggage to the airport shuttle, especially for a 6:30 AM flight (no dealing with expensive water taxis!). Excellent and friendly staff - made us feel completely at home. Went out of the way to help us carry our luggage when we needed to rush to catch the train to Florence. Great location - bang opposite the railway station and water-taxi stand. Easy walking to all the sights in the city (in fact, the location ensured we explored more of the city by walking, than if we had stayed next to the city centre). Nice rooms (only the ones overlooking the Grand Canal) and decent breakfast. Everybody on staff went out of their way to help us, from getting to the hotel during a water taxi strike, to arranging for a porter to meet us at Piazzale Roma to bring our luggage to the hotel during a major rain storm to upgrading to a room facing the canal and to suggesting some typical Venetian restaurants that weren't too "touristy" This was my wife's first trip to Venice and the hospitality shown to us left her with some great memories of our stay at the hotel. I like position of hotel - I have walking difficulties but am still able to get there relatively easily from bus station. Staff are very warm and friendly. I have stayed twice before and although probably five or six years since my last visit, receptionist recognised me and asked if I would like to have the room I had had previously, which was just what I wanted. Good hotel for solo traveller as places to eat close by and very comfortable and spacious bedroom. Loved, loved the service we got when we checked in. We upgraded and got a room with a view of the canal and the room was the best room we stayed in while we visited Italy. The bathroom was by far the largest one in all our trip. Now wished we had stayed here longer. The location was right across from the train station and 5 minutes walk to a taxi on the mainland so couldn't beat that. Just an incredible experience staying in this hotel. Would go back!. The location of this hotel is perfect. Along the Grand Canal and just opposite the station means you don't have to get a taxi to your front door (as long as you're prepared to carry your bags over one bridge) and it's easy to find your way back—a big plus in Venice. This boutique hotel from the 16th Century is totally redone inside. It feels like visiting a family, yet has all the necessary amenities. Breakfast on the Grand Canal is a real treat. Nothing!. breakfast was dull after just one morning - a real disappointment in such a good hotel. Could have had better quality orange juice for breakfast. Not much really. They use long-life milk but got fresh milk for the following day when we mentioned it. Cant think of anything negative. Nothing. Nothing I can think of. There wasn't a single thing we didn't like! :). None that I don't like. It would be good if the hotel could do more than just breakfast. Only one thing. No info in the room on the hotel or the area. We had some bad eating experiences outside the hotel and a note of recommended eating places in the room would have avoided that. They said they would have told us several good eating places but we shouldn't have had to ask. None. no negatives at all. Evening hotel desk clerk referred us to a horrible restaurant for dinner. She stated it was one of her favorite seafood dining places and it was our worst meal during 3 weeks spent in Europe. WifI link was weak in room and we had to go downstairs to get connected. The downloadable map that came with booking showed the hotel to be between two churches so we got lost. If you arrive at Piazzale Roma take the small bridge to the right then hotel is on same side and only 5 minutes walk. Bed - tended to fall into the middle. Breakfast room a little cramped, but food and service was fine. There was nothing that I didnt like about this hotel. small buffet for breakfast; hard pillows (some soft pillows would make a big difference).
