We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel really stood out in terms of quality (from what we saw of other hotels in venice). The staff (who all spoke at least some English) were friendly and helpful. The room was impressive and ours was bigger than I thought it would be after I read that some people thought the rooms were small. all reviews » After reading horror stories of small rooms and inconsistent service in Venice, we intentionally looked for a room with updates and some space and Carnival delivered both. Check in was easy and quick! The hotel was in the quite end of town and away from the crowd. It is also a very short distance (5min) to the public transportation dock and maybe 15 min walk to the train station. Rooms very modern and clean. Hot water all week and lots of water pressure. Breakfast was hot everyday and delicious. Very comfortable, very modern hotel - almost new. Very professional, accomodating staff. Great breakfast. Nice garden/patio area adjacent to the dining lounge, in which to enjoy breakfast. Good location right on a busy canal with a water bus stop right outside. About a 15 min walk to the railway station at S. Lucia. This is a high end, luxury hotel at a reasonable (for Venice) price. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely return. There was also a slight smell in our room of what we think was cannabis, it was just odd more than anything. But I definitely wouldn't say these things would put us off staying here again because it was lovely. Since Venice seems to shut down after 9pm, It would be nice to have at least one English speaking channel that shows movies or sitcoms on the tv besides the news. They did not have tea or coffee making facilities in our room and no trouser press. I guess the view out of our window...it was to some roof tops. But that is my fault for not requesting a canal view. A little bit far from the center, 30minutes walk from St. Marcus Square. Nevertheless there's always the possibility of using the public boat (lines 5.1 and 5.2). There's a boat- stop in front of the hotel. If you like to walk this is the perfect place to stay. Nothing!. This is a pet peeve of mine, no irons on the premises. Asking people to use a €8 service to iron a shirt is a bit much in my humble opinion. WiFi not so good in our room at third floor. No kettle/coffee maker in room. A little bit far from the center, 30minutes walk from St. Marcus Square if you do not use the vaporettos. If you like to walk then do not consider it a problem. The air conditioning reading said 18 degrees, it was much warmer than that and, on asking at reception, there was no way of getting the room cooler. Since opening the windows at night would mean allowing giant mosquitoes to feast on us, we managed but I was grateful that we were there in relatively cool May, so I opened the windows at 6am to get some welcome fresh air. That would be my only negative. I was satisfied with everything. lack of vegetables for breakfast. Internet is free and the signal is good in room but the speed is so slow, should improve this service. The view from our room was not interesting. The ventilation was sometimes a bit loud. Not a lot to complain about. Wi-fi was maybe a little slow, but its not unbearable. i think it would be rude to complain about a hotel and stay like this - there was nothing that one could complain about. Same breakfast everyday and we stayed for 4 nights :( wifi quality to be improved (slow and unstable). Was Missing the tea maker :). Mattress too hard :( but that's only a personal preference! Really couldn't fault this hotel at all. Nothing all great. when a water calamity....,but anyone can't againt it ！. We adored everything. The halls were dimly lit. Would have liked more light. It was great. Everything was fine. I booked a more expensive hotel for our return. We should have gone back to Hotel Campiello!. Black rugs and lighting makes it look like a brothel or set of a Star Trek movie. Very little counter space in the bathroom. Front desk staff were not overly friendly. nothing not to like. Liked it all. Coffee/tea set in the room would be appreciated. Nothing. If you try to sleep past 8:30, the noise from neighboring rooms being cleaned wakes you up!. Very dark rooms. No coffee or tea making machine in room !. staff could have been a little friendlier, but overall liked hotel very much. It's a decent walk to anywhere (20-25mins to Rialto bridge and 40mins to Saint Mark's) and the waterbus isn't all that fun as an alternative to walking.
