The location and relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. The staff were very friendly despite the large language barrier (ignorance on our part not theirs). The check in times were useful also. A memorable and pleasant stay for both of us. the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. Very friendly hotel owner although we arrived late in the evening. Very individual - not a chain! Comfy bed. Simple decoration. it made us speak Italian - and Giovanni very knowledgeable about Renaissance art. Good bus connections to station; Piazzale Michaelangelo and Fiesole. Nice local restaurant recommended - not touristy. Great for Accademia (able to check queues each day and got into see 'David' without queueing). Breakfast room.
