This residence was located in a building dating back to the 1600s so the ambiance was that of a true native experience. Alexandro, the manager, spoke English and was the epitome of friendliness and helpfulness. This residence was very clean, secure, conveniently located, and on a quiet street. The rooms were large and the breakfast was adequate--served in a restaurant located next door. The location is wonderful as we enjoyed the surrounding cafe's, indoor market, and outdoor market. Florence is a beautiful city for walking and the hotel is in a perfect location. The young man (Lori?) that greeted us was an absolute joy to talk with and he instantly made us familiar with Florence and the highlights.

We felt like we stayed in a home and were genuinely made welcome. the staff were above and beyond helpful, they were outstanding without being overly intrusive, and the small size of this hotel meant really personal attention.Hotel stuff are very frirendly and so helpful. Location close to train station and landmarks.The rooms are enormous by European standards. Particularly for the very very reasonable prices. The warm welcome and beautiful rooms. The hotel does not have it's own dining facility. Instead we were issued with vouchers to take to a local cafe which seemed more authentic. very "family run" and welcoming atmosphere with clear pride of ownership and friendliness. it look like a home and not a hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel looked great and its location was perfect.nice location, beautiful room, kind staff. unique. As a personnel preference we would like to have had better pillows but this is true of most hotels we have stayed at in Europe. There were mosquitos in Florence when we stayed there and there are no screens, but the hotel provided a zapper device that worked well when we used it!!. though we barely used it the television was ridiculousl;y s\mall. Noise from the street.Breakfast was quite small, though still very good. There are a number of restaurants across the street from the hotel, and it's very noisy at night, even with the windows closed tightly. We had to buy ear plugs in order to get a decent nights sleep.Tooo many mosquitoes... I got bitten 12 times during 2 nights!. A bit of street noise and beds on the hard side resulted in some restless sleep - but nothing that would put me off going back again. The breakfast is very poor. privacy. No internet connection. The wall were thin and you could hear street traffic below and the owner requested that we pay in advance because he thought we would leave without paying. I was not happy with his behavior especially since he already had my credit card number for the rooms, which were booked months in advance.we stayed 2 nights, in the eveing a little bit nosiy outside from the street.
