we were on our honeymoon and they upgraded us to the executive suite. Nothing that we asked for was too much trouble for the staff expecialy the chef at breakfast. The leisure facillities were excellent. As we were there during the week the hotel was very quiet I'd say it is excellent for a romantic break if you want peace and quiet or for famillies and oap's not if you are young and lively!!.
all reviews » I liked the pleasant friendly ctaff who I found very helpful from the moment I went to check in at reception to the leisure centre staff, the waiter and the chef in the dining room for breakfast. It was nice to be greeted by Irish front of house people who could converse with the guest. I liked everything about the hotel and will definately be back based on my first experience.We enjoyed a very large comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our stay. very reasonably priced, friendly staff, comfortable room catered with everything we needed. Everything about the hotel and staff was extremely excellent. Everything. The only negative comment I would make is that the carpet on the corridor floor ouside the room used by the cleaning staff for their trolleys and supplies was rather dirty from the wheels o fthe trolleys and dribbles. The corridor led to the bedrooms. Nothing I didn't like.only its distance from town centre but can't fault the hotel for that. A little traffic noise. Very near busy road... and bath enamel was badly chipped. Internet access is poor. Chairs in the dining hall.. Green chairs just don't suit the rest. shower head broke on 1st night but didnt really bother us,housekeeping advised us that we could change room but we weren't too bothered...paintwork on wall in bathroom was peeling.... the lights in the bedroom were very dull....Breakfast finished at 10.30am. Bit early for those who work, or arrive late at night. Sometimes not enough staff on the bar + swimming pool was cold. shower was just a bath shower. Cooked Breakfast was only average. I thought the bar food menu could be improved. For example, there were few vegetarian options. Leisure centre in need of facelift especially changing rooms. the restaurant. I think the rooms were a little shabby. The furniture should be up-graded when finances permit. But if the staff are good, then something minor like this is not really significant.i was dissapointed with the menu , it was very plain and the bar snack menu was minimum , not much to choose from , the restaurant menu was basicaly the same , as my partner is a chief she was very dissapointed . the hotel entertainment was very poor , on the whole i would say it was a great place but could do with some changes. I think the staff could have been more friendly.Our bedroom was badly in need of refurbishment. In particular the lampshades were a disgrace with surface peeling off on all three !. I found the waiting time in the restaurant to be vrey long.meal in bar not great for price. Ordered a roast turkey dinner but very basic, no roast potatoes/ cocktail sausages and veg was fresh I think but resembled frozen veg and could have made better at home. The staff ok but very rushed and had to wait quite a while for menus/ get servedbut busy due to Easter.Room was above gym very loud for small child with us finished at 8.30pm. bath water brown. A bit run down.
