Jimmy & Mary were wonderful. We got in about an hour before sunset
and didn't want to drive back into Kinsale. Mary recommended the
Sparkle Door about 2 miles up the road where we had the best meal of our
entire trip. Homemade tomoto soup and fish chowder and amazing salmon
and fish and ships. It was a small local restaurant pub that was very
friendly and very reasonably priced. The Blue Horizon has its' own
pub that we sat at with the owner Jimmy and his daughter Geraldine. We

In spite of the rain we enjoyed our stay. There was lots to see in the area and many restaurants/pubs to eat out.
The main reason for our visit was to see the area where my Grandfather had been taken as a survivor of the Lusitania sinking during WW1.
Unfortunately the museum in Kinsale was closed so we did not get to see the information, about my Grandfather, that we had provided for the museum.
The owners of the B&B were wonderful people and helped us any way that they could.
Everything, only wish we had spent one more night. Great staff and very nice room. They offered the best breakfast of our 2 week trip. Location was very convenient to Kinsale and allowed us the opportunity to be outside the city with a wonderful view. I would highly recommend this B&B if you are going to Kinsale.
Mary and her family were sincerely friendly and helpful. The scenery was amazing and we were very glad that we decided to stay a short distance away from Kinsale. It was amazing being in the countryside. The scenery at Blue Horizon [from our room too] and the little discoveries while driving around [like Sandy Cove].
Fantastic location. Outside Kinsale, short drive the views were
phenomenal really out standing location and beside Garretstown strand so just short walk to beach.
Mary was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of her way so we had a great time there and would love go back.
And they have a bar.
Jimmy and Mary are great folks and the Blue Horizon is the perfect seaside inn. Brilliant coastal views, close to Kinsale, scenic drives and the wonderful Speckled Door pub. Mary's breakfasts are delicious, the rooms are huge, immaculate, comfortable. Love this place and will be back!.
The owners, Mary & Jimmy are just the most down-to-earth, friendly
folks you would want as your host. Their hospitality was incredible. The
facility, location is the very best yoiu can ask for. The views were
awesome. Also, one of the best Irish Breakfasts we had on hte trip.
They have the best location in Ireland! Breath-taking views of the ocean
and Old Head. Wonderful staff, great pub: even live trad music the night
we were there. Room was lovely, breakfast equally so. Wish we could have
stayed a day longer to check out the bean!.
Mary, the host was very friendly and accommodating. Basic amenities in the facility. Beautiful area close to the beach with spectacular seaside views. Beach was great for water sports including surfing, windsurfing etc.
Nice room with fantastic ocean view and friendly staff, Mary, who actually drove her own car and picked us up for free at a restaurant a couple of kilometers away just so that we wouldn't have to pay for a taxi.
Our stay here was perfect.We had such a fun and relaxing time and were made very welcome by all.We HIGHLY recommend a stay here and look forward to returning ourselves before too long.AAA++++++++++++++++++.

Absolutely magic. To wake up to a sea view from our bedroom window was superb. Facilities great as was the breakfast. The drive out was worth it. Wished we could have stayed longer.

we have 4 young kids so we were concerned about our kids being noise with the other guests since its a B&B. Not an issue with the facility - simply something to consider when choosing this property.
