As central as Jury's for half the price! I loved the location - I have had too many visits to Galway recently where I've been stuck in hotels or guesthouses on the edge of town and had to battle through the notorious Galway traffic jams. Here I was in the heart of Galway, all the interesting little shops which make this city so special were yards away, the farmers market on a saturday morning was just beside us. This does mean that there is quite a lot of noise at night, but I thought it was wo.
all reviews » Almost changed our reservation after reading bad reviews online. So glad we did not. Great central location. Yes a little loud but that is the price you pay to be in the heart of any city. Friendly welcome. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean rooms. Yes, small rooms but We were not looking for a suite. Quaint kitchen with continental breakfast laid on. Croissants , bagels, cold meats and cheeses, freshly brewed coffee etc. What more could we have wished for. We had a lovely stay and cann. This modern boutique hotel is very well designed in an old building, Very well situated near the Claddagh area of Galway within easy reach of all restaurants and pubs. There is a excellent value overnight parking arrangement with a nearby multistory. The continental breakfast was excellent with loads of fresh fruit. I would return here anytime and have already recommended it to colleagues. Wonderful stay in a stylishly designed small but perfectly formed spotless twin room. You will find no better location in Galway city. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating at all times. The continental breakfast was excellent with a great selection. I would have no hesitation booking this hotel again and would recommend it to all friends and family!. Location is absolutely the best there is in Galway. It is very attractively decorated. The renovation is alluded to in some of the interesting material dotted around. Very friendly and helpful staff. I learned about Galway's history from the information I found in the hotel. The room was very small but it had a huge, fab bed and everything was of a superb quality - sheets, towels, soaps, breakfast. The building was great - loved the history behind it, fab location. The rooms were a bit noisy but not a huge issue as we stayed during the week. Staff were lacklustre - friendly enough but certainly didn't go out of their way either. Interesting characteristic building, beautiful rooms, fantastic location, well decorated, very clean and the staff were helpful. All the essentials left in the house for you which was a lovely touch. House is a little quirky but I loved it...rooms decorated to a very high standard!. We were at the top of the building so there were quite a few stairs which was charming and to be expected in a very old building but wouldn't be good if you were old/drunk/hungover/pregnant (request a lower floor room - you should still still stay here!). Nothing!. I can imagine the noise from street level and pubs at night might be annoying however I was prepared for this as my partner is a snorer of note. Earplugs!!. There was mould in the bathroom. Small kitchen.. everything was excelent. The only negative thing about the location is that the rooms are just off the main street so loud music from the bar can be heard at night. Because it is in the center of this darling town, weekends can get a bit noisy. We slept well with aid of earplugs and weeknights were not a problem!. Small room but then again, we knew we wanted the location rather than the space otherwise I woudl have booked Radisson for example. The noise from the late bar across the street after closing; the 'craic' continued in the street well after closing time. The room was very small for the asking price. Not a thing!. Room and bathroom are very small but its very clean and perfect for one night. If you want to go to bed early this is not the place to stay !. If there was anything negative I could say it would be that the room was small but adequate. Noise. But to be expected where located. Biggest issue was noise from bin collectors and road cleaners at 5am. Which cannot be blamed on the hotel owners. Shower pressure pretty none existent but we were on the top floor of this old building so again, to be expected to a degree. One draw back was the shower did not work properly, water went from piping hot to freezing and then back to piping hot. €10 overnight parking and not being able to connect any device to wi fi. Staff blamed the age of the building and weather but kindly offered me the use of the reception computer. Room was very small but fine for overnight. The only thing that is in anyway negative is the size of the rooms. They are small but it really wasn't a problem. Rooms are on the small side. Some street noise on weekends. Easily solved by staying out making noise yourself!. It was noisy in my room because I faced the smoking area of a popular pub, but I didn't mind it too much. Shower wasn't great. Not enough power. Very noisey sreet at night if you went to bed early. (We were ib bed by 2am most nights but noise levels from the street went on well after 3am). Needed to wear earplugs. Just the size of the rooms but given that the building is so old, it's understandable. very very small rooms, only suitable for 1 or 2 people max, and would not stay here for more then 1 night in a row. Room, although lovely, was on the small side. Room is very small with poor storage facilities. The smallest room I ever stayed in. Not suitable for older people or people with mobility issues as the room was so tight. No space for wardrobes !!!. Noise level outside bedroom window on the night very very loud and went on for a long time. Could do something with sound proofing windows. Rooms are tiny. Very narrow winding stairs for anyone on a higher floor. Can be quite noisy with thin walls and street outside. Carpets on stairs need replacing, other than that it was lovely. There should be some room to stow away your things; the TV programme should include BBC and Ulster TV. V small rooms, hard to walk around the bed. Walls are thin so can be noisy . Rooms a bit small but are grand aswell. Not a major problem but the Merlin room on the top floor is tiny. To be expected in a building as old as this is, beautiful decor and clean.... Small rooms, little wardrobe space- no hangers. Tried the buzzer for a long time on Saturday night to get back into the building. It was quite late with a lot of people around so was concerned for personal safety as I was on my own. Tried the phone no. Twice but straight to voice mail. Eventually the porter heard the buzzer and let me in.Very long 10mins waiting prior to that. Needed another lamp I'm room and side table.
