The woman running the B 'n' B was friendly, helpful, accommodating to all our needs. My daughter and her one year old child were travelling in Ireland for 10 days. We stayed our first 2 days here. We enjoyed it so much we could have stayed here for the entire time, so we asked if she had room for us for our last 2 days when we returned to Dublin. As she had a cancellation while we were in other places, she emailed us and we happily stayed here again. The friendly atmosphere and help in plotting. all reviews »
Bed was the comfiest i have ever slept in, pillows were fluffy. Hygiene Standards were the highest i have seen.
Room was decorated to a high standard and was well equiped.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was gorgeous, it was clear that the food provided was of a high standard and after some discussion with staff member it was clear that alot of thought went into quality and taste, yummy and there was plenty of it too.

We arrived at Gate Lodge late (10 pm ) due to our rail tour schedule. It was a cold night, but to our surprise, we found our room warm and cozy as we entered. The staff had pre- heat our room! It's very nice of them!
In addition to the availability of internet access, Gate Loge even provided a printer for our usage. It's just unbelievable!

The location is also good: transport, food, park - everything is in close proximity. If you are a runner - take training shoes with you.

The owner and her assistant were invariably helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfasts were excellent and the rooms clean and comfortable. It is an older house which opens onto the street. Secure parking is 5 mins away at the Heuston station for 8 Euros a day.
The staff is very friendly and nice. Breakfast was started from 7.30. I would go to Cork one early morning, and the owner made me a sandwich because I couldn't eat breakfast that morning.

Located close to convenient transportation to the center of the city. Near a large public park. Heuston train station is five minutes walk away. A good museum is two blocks away. Located in a non-touristy area of Dublin.
Loved the building, loved the room, loved the breakfast :) Right across the street form Phoneix Park and the Dublin Zoo. Easy to catch a bus or train and a taxi. 2 good pubs across the street for dinner.
The Gate Lodge was central, friendly, nice large room, with the most comfortable bed ever! And as for the breakfast, well it was also sumptuous. My young son and I will stay there again to be sure.
We liked the whole brief stay, the owner and staff were extremely helpful and friendly, would have no hesitation in recommending Gate Lodge and hope to visit again in the not too distant future!.

The bus trip back to the airport was a bit long winded but we made it back in time to catch our flight, everything else about Dublin was fine and we want to visit again soon.
