Location. Despite the 'budget price' the room and other facilities were of 'quite high' standard.Breakfast was lovely, staff were very friendly. How close in the centre of town it was. convenient, clean and very very helpful staff [ we suffered problems departing due to airport trouble and the staff were so helpful fixing us up for further nights accommodation thanks so much and well done them. all reviews »
Friendly staff, convenient location, pub across the street, 24 hr staff at front desk, shower in room, knowledgeable staff super full breakfast, close to Temple Bar, ease of use, the price. I did like facilities for going and coming in the hotel. In More the staff's employees is very nice. The staff were very friendly. the place near the center. the location in the city centre. The location. The closeness to the cental bus station [Bus Arus] and Connolly train station is the main reason for staying here. Its also a short walking distance to O'Connell street and the Temple bar area on the other side of the river. The room I stayed in was simple and basic but it was perfect. As a solo traveller I needed somewhere to sleep. Central to dublin and helpful staff.staff and location. some service. Central location close to shops and bus station. the breakfast was good!. Very convenient location and the walk home at night wasn't unpleasant as a single lady. good location - near bus staton and town. Near to the city center. Location is Good!. Breakfast. Nothing, actually. The room was less than basic. We booked 3 nights, we stayed one. Due to the poor quality of the room.Able to leave bags in a room when checked out and before. within walking distance of train station. Central location,. The Avondale Guesthouse did not have a room for me, despite my booking, and sent me to the Maple Guest House on the other side of the road. fresh clean sheets on the bed and good towels. One or two staff were trying their best.Location is central and very convenient. Nothing, was very nosy, electric heater in roon was faulty and sparked, noglass for even a drink of water, windows didn't close. The place is shaggy and really uncomfortable, really I cannot find anypositive thing in it. Nothing. I had to change hotels after the 1st night. Leaving it - it was a nightmare to stay at. 24Hr reception. On a personal basis, I would have appreciated a 'cup of tea' in the room before we retired1. (But that is a very small personal afterthought). Room was very noisy as on main road, also only one curtain on window and hotel wasnt able to fix it. room was clean and we had fresh towels every day apart from a few issues our stay was great.breakfasts were good but lacked variety, TV stations were better in your sister hotel across the road oddly. 1 broken toilet seat, soap in 1 out of 3 washrooms, lots of stairs. The room was advertised as a double but the bed was a large single. the smell of the kitchen in the morning. No toilet in the hotel room!. You are supposed to leave your keys at reception on going out. But the reception desk was not always staffed. There was not secure place to leave the room key. A mailbox at the reception desk for leaving the room key would be a good idea.Size of room. No tea or coffee making facilities. the smell was bad and the room were yucky. some employees. Bit noisy at night. No toilet or drinks facilities in small bedroom. the carpet in the room was not hoovered. Also, the cleaners came too early they arrived at our door insisting we check out at 11 although on our booking form it stated that we didnt have to check out until 12. The cleaners also continued to knock at our door three times insisting that we have out stayed our welcome. This destroyed what otherwise was an enjoyable stay. I believe that an 'ensuite' includes a toilet. en-suite - no toilet, shower inside the room, no wardrobe or drawers, cobwebs on walls/ceiling, water did not drain from shower or sink causing smell, NO hot water for shower , worste place I have ever stayed !!!!!!!!. Room to close to the door bell; Dirty shower cabin. Bed was not a full double!..Room next to front door is a real bad place for a bed, should be used as a lounge or office as door bell never stopped ringing!...Ment to of payed for BB but no breakfast was available to us as we had to leave at about 8.15am...even though I asked if it was possible to eat slightly before 8am it was'nt! I would not recomend this place as i like to enjoy my stay when pos. the room is much too small !!!. See above. No value for money. Far too expensive. For the other 2 nights, we booked a 4-star hotel for the same price!!! Really!. Old, tatty, unclean, shower and sink in room but toilet in corridor.very basic, confusion about booking, staff walked into room without knocking. No lift (we have got room on a third floor - with one year old baby itwas really hard), too small rooms, no other furniture than just bed, disgusting view from the room...., Hotel after reconstruction shouldlook differently. Dirty carpets and walls, taps did not work properly, broken fittings in bathroom, smelly. Only one chair in a double room. No table at all. no hand soap in the common toilets. no glass in the bathroom. No soap/ shampoo in the bathroom. No 24 hour reception/support- at 07:30 in the morning several residents including ourselves had no hot water for shower. In our case it was completely disconnected and could not be connected......The room was a few square meters, the window was broken and so was theshutter. The smell in the bedroom was terrible and I didn't want tospend there more than a few hours, this means I actually spent the nightout till 2 am and I left at 4.30 in the morning. The government shouldnot allow such a place! It has no minimum standard. Room was tiny and very scruffy. Door of sink cupboard falling off. Room faced onto noisy street. No soap. No tea/coffee. Very expensive compared to lovely hotel guest house I moved to across the road that was 35 euros cheaper. The profile made it sound a pleasant place to stay - the truth could not be further away. The staff were off hand and rude. The room was dirty and so basic I was shocked. I feel very annoyed that I was misled by the advert. It is a back packers place and definitely not worth the money. Please do not stay at this place it is horrible. The Avondale Guesthouse is a hell hole. The room was small, and therewas no wardrobe or storage space, just two single beds, complete withbedbugs. The wallpaper was coming off the walls, there were water stainson the ceiling, and the shower and washbasin are literally in the room. The one window overlooks an internal yard which serves as a dumpsite forold mattresses and toilets. It was a complete dump. The windows were broken and would not close properly, the TV didn't work, furniture was wrecked and there was a lot of noise from outside. It wasn't even that cheap. The whole place and the room was in bad condition and smelled stale, window was so badly insulted the room was freezing and we had all the noise from the street including a beeping pedestrian crossing. Bed was barely large enough for 2 adults, we hardly slept. The shared toilets had light fixtures hanging off the wall and very noisy extractor fan, hardly ideal when using them during the night. The room was dirty, the carpet in the room was disgusting, they didn'tprovide amenities and you could find a much better hotel for the sameprice, we know because we change hotel.
