We believe this hotel to have one of the best positions in Glyfada, with not so much noise from the main road. We appreciated the pool with the lounge chair, allowing relaxing a bit after a city tour. The breakfast was fair. The staff was very professional and friendly. The tram station is very close to the hotel, taking you directly to the center of Athens and to all the main beaches. Voula beach is only a short walk. all reviews » The staff here are exceptional. Nothing too much trouble. We were meant to arrive at around 9 pm after a flight from London. We picked up a hire car ( staff here not good!!) and were given sat nav co-ordinates which took us into Athens city. W should have got to the hotel at the latest at 10.00 and it was almost midnight> Th staff were so sympathetic and the young lady in particular was so attentive. She made us some food and made sure we had a car park spot right n front on the hotel she ha. Excellent customer service of the reception desk. Irini always makes me feel welcomed like family. She will respond quickly to my request for a teapot and extrs hand towel. Tatiana also replies to email inquires quickly and makes me feel safe. The room is spacious, overlooks the pool, has fast wireless access, safe, and mini refrigerator. It is conveniently located at te Pikpa bus stop where the Airport Express 96 stops. And the tram is within a block away to get to Syntagma. The neighborhood i. Staff were very helpful. Tram stop is just outside to catch the tram into Athens (it does take 50mins though). Supermarket and shopping strip within 15min walk. Internet was not working in our room - but was very relaxing sitting downstairs in the bar/lounge area where it worked fine. Bathroom was great - had been recently renovated. Yes the room was a bit tired/old, but I only noticed it as it was mentioned in the reviews, otherwise everything was fine. They give out maps and comprehensive suggestions as to where to go for foods, take trams or metro etc. We chose this location because we were just one one night stop over in Athens and did not want to be caught in Athens' downtown traffic for an early morning flight to Santorini. I've found the Golden Sun Hotel the perfect hotel, simple yet confortable enough and with a very friendly atmosphere. Definitely shall go back. The location in Glyfada is ideal because it is near the sea, close to the quiet suburbs, and conveniently located near the buses that run along Poseidonos road and the tram which goes to Syntagma. Glyfada is a rich suburb of Athens with no crime and plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, etc. The staff at the Golden Palace were attentive, helpful, and friendly - especiallz Tatiana, Helen, and Irini. everything especially the lady Titiana, at the respect ion, she was more then good she made everything easy i arrived early she manage to get me a room, and gave lot of her time to show where is the best restaurants, and she prepared my breakfast at 4 am since my flight was very early the second day, and the whole staff are great, the rooms are very clean and big bathe room, for sure i will cme again!!. The walls are very thin and double glazing was poor. The hotel had a wedding which meant a distrubed nights sleep due to noisy guests. The room was not a non smoking room. The tram as noisy and made it difficult to sleep even when the Windows were closed. The facility is need of a bit of a facelift. Old carpeting and old furniture need to be replaced. Double bed is small and mattres was not the most comfortable. Dramatic hotel!! Very very noisy and old. Crazy prices for a hotel like this!!.
