Fair location if you are on the move. About 10 minutes away (by metro) from the main shopping and bar area, or a 35 minute walk. Breakfast had a variety of options to choose from, but repetitive for a 4 day stay. Rooms were very comfy and clean. Few minor problems that did not bothered us at all (shower drain, rather vintage furniture). Free WiFi, fast, with good signal (lobby & rooms).
all reviews » The location of the hotel is suitably located within easy walking of the main shopping district and an amazing assortment of excellent restaurants from fast food to fine dining. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful. The pricing was fantastic and we stayed for 6 nights for the price of 2 nights in a comparable hotel in North America. Wonderfull room for 4 people with an extra bed. Room has a mezzanine with a double bed and a closet, downstair there is enough space for two bed, the third bed extra should be asked just for emergency but for two nights between strict friends it could be acceptable. Cheap price and good position, next to train station and 1 km away from konigstalle. The staff was excellent. They are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I had a nice chat with the gentleman at the reception desk the day I came to the city after a long journey and it started my stay off nicely. A few days after my stay, I stopped in and the woman at the front desk helped me print off my train ticket. I stayed at the Madison Novum only for one night, but it made a good impression. I got a great deal for a hotel so close to the main station and for an amazingly comfortable, clean room. The gummy bears on the bed were a nice touch. It's a very good hotel, very clean, location is amazing just 2 min to train station and 7 min to downtown and most famous street in dusseldorf a lot of Turkish restaurant around the hotel , price was very reasonable. The room was clean and fairly spacious. Location was excellent, right by the main train station and a close walk to the Rhein, Alstedt, and other notable tourist areas. This room had 2 floor, balcony and free lock-box. good location for railway station & good rate with bft included but we left too early in the morning so could not make use of the breakfast. There was no bathtub as advertised on their site, just a stand-up shower. All the TV channels were in German except one English news station. There were not enough workers at breakfast to keep up with the guests who were eating. Some of the foods were not available at 9:50 and breakfast did not end until 10:30. Maybe it's an English thing, but I very much missed having tea-making facilities in the room. Just a kettle would have made such a difference!. No coffee making facilities in the room. not close to altstreet or riverside the real scene of action. If you arrive late for breakfast, there wouldn't be choice of food. I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room but this is just being 'nit-picky'!. Not enough pillows on the beds when I asked for more they were very obliging except they turned out to be cushions in pillow cases instead. not having coffee and tea facilities. no minibar, just water. the hotel does not confirm to its 4 stars at all - no mini bar in the room, no air conditioner, nothing special aboum the rooms and poor hotel facilities (no pool or fitness centre). It is not very nice to feel like you are staying in a building site. Even though our room was located towards the back yard, the noise (from the personell's lunch room?) was annoying, and we came home from our holiday feeling that we had not slept a wink. Interior had seen better days and no head rest on the bed considering it was a queen room and a 4* hotel. No published # to contact front desk. I would have nothing to complain of in this hotel. The should be a little fridge in the room. Smelly room, the heating was off, although outside was around 5 degrees. we paid appx £40 per night for b &b. whats not to like. Revolving door at front looked uninviting due to white cover over it. We were told on the website that check-in was 2 PM. We arrived at 1:50 and had to wait in the lobby until 3 PM to get into our room. Breakfast. Heating was not on. Breakfast could have been better. weird room design with prehistoric wooden furniture. Dont really think this is a 4 star hotel. There is not even a bar. Nothing. The internet connection was very slow.
