The staff were bilingual and it was easy to communicate in English, even though I wanted to practice my French. It was in a relatively good location just outside of the Old City and basically everything I wanted was within walking distance (did not take a cab or transit at all). The room prices were excellent for the amenities and the rooms seemed like they had been recently updated...very nice! The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the shower head was large and great for a hot shower aft.

Across street, market specialising in local produce and products - we went in fall and all the fruits and vegetables were perfect. The local eateries were excellent. The Quebecois, like the French, KNOW how to eat, and they seemed always to ensure that when selling you any product, they gave you all the info you needed to ensure the best experience when eating or drinking it. Their service was very friendly whereve. We liked that the hotel is in the quieter part of the city and was very quiet. The room was well appointed and the staff friendly and helpful. We were able to store our bikes in the hotel's conference room for safe keeping. A continental breakfast was quietly delivered outside our door each morning at 7:00 with freshly baked pastries, yogurt, and orange juice kept cool in an insulated bag. Coffee and tea were available inside our room made with a Keurig Coffee/tea maker. We will stay there. The entire staff was excellent!! Extremely helpful with suggestions for dining establishments and directions. Sophie and Jean Sebastian were superb. Making arrangements for our tour, cutting the lock from my suitcase etc..... The decor was beautiful. The location in Old Quebec City was excellent for what we wanted to see in our short stay. The lovely touch of the breakfast bag containing our Continental breakfast was just the icing on the cake. We would return in a minute. . The staff were very helpful and friendly. Loved the simplicity of breakfast being automatically delivered quietly to our door. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. The location was very convenient being at the bottom of the hill and only a 10 minute walk to the pedestrian friendly old town and funicular to the Planes of Abraham and upper historical old town of Quebec. The lovely superior room which was large, very quiet and comfortable. The bed was wonderful and there were some nice touches like a luxury bathrobe and nice bathroom cosmetics. The delivered to your door breakfast was very good, wonderfully fresh and tasty and every day different. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to the port, market and city. This factory-hotel converted place is a delight to stay and to visit Quebec from. It deserves its 4 stars but has no retaurant or bar. Being lactose intolerant I wish that there had been a dairy free alternative in the continental breakfasts.Nothing was left to be negative about. Everything was excellent. We would absolutely stay here again. We would have liked to have more coffee pods and milk/cream for breakfast and for other times when we were confined to the hotel due to heavy rain!!. The rooms at the front could be noisy as near the main road. We were pleased that our room gave on to the side alley. nothing really but a little bar to socialize would be welcome. not close to restaurants This comment is not a dislike but a suggestion that the front desk could suggest taking the ecolobus to visit parts of Old Quebec ( Chateau Frontenac, restaurants etc ) rather than having to walk up hill to visit them. Building from outside looks like nothing. Windows really did not adequately insulate against road noise. Not all rooms have a safe (ours didn't). Also, tv channels did not include espn which meant that the football fan staying in the room missed the US-Mexico World cup!!. The only thing I would add is more coffee for breakfast. Lighting was not very bright. The room did have 2 windows which would have added extra lighting but the weather was hot & humid so we kept the blinds shut. Very few rooms enjoy the river view. More important though, the hotel has a tiny lobby and no dining hall. Breakfast is provided in a thermos bag brought to your room, which is not too bad after all. No real dislikes. Would have preferred warm pastries in the morning - but quite good nonetheless. Exterior looks a bit run down. Traffic on the road means windows have to stay closed. There was a bit of a musty smell and no health facility. It was a bit far from the sites you wanted to see and the shops. Nothing to dislike. Lovely hotel in great location. Nothing. nothing. breakfast was not so good. Having to drag suitcases up a half dozen steps to get to lift to go to rooms. Bathroom a little too small. Noise from the street Breakfast at the door. The best restaurants are not by the hotel. They are further up the hill. The included breakfast was really poor. We could only receive a small bag with sugared stuff neither of us liked. we paid for parking lot across the hotel although it was a long weekend and all such parking areas were free until Tuesday morning( that's what we learnt later on). An innocent mistake I guess...
