Located very close to Berri uqam subway station. The room was clean and looked good. Continental breakfast (croissants, yoghurt, juice) was included. The owner provided a very good map of Montreal and gave detailed instructions re public transport, sightseeing, etc. There is a fridge in the room. Wi fi works well. It is possible to print your boarding passes, excursion tickets, etc at the reception free of charge. Overall, excellent value for money and a very pleasant place.
all reviews » I stayed in an apartment around the corner from Hotel Stay (part of owner's property as well). Location was great-not far from Park De La Fontaine-wonderful running/walking/biking paths there surrounded by trees. Two minute walk to Metro station. Great customer service! Staff was very helpful though not always available. I was travelling with my teenage daughter. We had the 2 bedroom apartment. It was fully equipped. Located in a great city neighbourhood. We enjoyed our stay immensely. This is not a luxury apartment, but the beds, linens, towels etc were all up to par with a luxury hotel. Hotel simple, quiet and organized. The staff was really helpful in everything imaginable: directions, parking, breakfast and everything else. An excellent location and value for money ... I recommend!. Hotel was basic but in a good area for restaurants and base for visit to Montreal. Street a block away for night strolling. Breakfast room basic. Clean. No A/C. But we knew all this going in. Close to everything, helpful, friendly staff, comfortable and stylish apartment with kitchen and great little balcony, affordable, greeted by wonderful breakfast delivery every morning. Excellent customer service, small and quaint, close to parking and public transportation. Within walking distance to historic city center. Underground shopping. Quiet and clean. Apartment was a decent size and reasonably private. The area was gay friendly and local people were friendly. Not far from St. Catherine's Street or the Old Port. Breakfast was fantastic, even for just a continental breakfast (there were croissants!). Check-in time has to be negotiated prior to arrival as there's no staffed reception, and this is fine, but the hotel staff are not always punctual, so I had to wait for about 15 minutes when I arrived. The breakfast room is very crammed and has only four chairs (with hardly any extra space left), so I preferred to take breakfast out to my room. Even though management came and changed fuse in oven, when I tried to use the oven my last night, apparently it blew again-so could not use at all. Stove did work though. Apartment a bit old, but not bad-everything worked except oven. Neighbors downstairs made quite a bit of noise on regular basis (seemed at least 5 or more lived down there)-perhaps as old building-thin walls (as door shook each time they came in and out). Overall, great value though. The telephone number that was printed on my letsbookhotel.com confirmation form was not actually the number for the hotel. It was a number for a different hotel. I was unable to call for directions and lost some time on the one way streets. Please make sure that letsbookhotel.com prints the correct number on your confirmation forms. Stairs a bit long and dangerous for those with heavy bags ... Had to carry luggage up to room. No elevator. You will have to go up one or two flights. Lack of coffeemaker in apartment; we were promised one and it never was brought by. Not enough seating in livingroom for four adults; small couch. Nothing, really. Staff not available outside of certain hours. Wireless internet did not work very well up on the third floor. The only thing i did not like that the bed was not so comfortable. carpet could do with a clean, but no real problems. The room was a bit too cold. Please turn up the heat ;)!. Rough edges here and there - chipped sink, etc. Shower was extremely small, although it did have good pressure. Bed linens lacked quality. The champoo (they were little containers instead of a regular big one). Small size bed, not to warm in the room (during night a bit cold), breakfast room too small... Neighborhood seems a bit unsafe. not enough linen in the rooms. Nothing. My stay was nothing short of spectacular!. Carpets were a bit old. Small kitchenette No Air conditioning. The apartment was a little tired, bathroom especially needed some work done on the tiles. The front room was noisy at night. Needed the window open to get air into the apartment, downside was the street noise was loud. The couch cushion in the loungeroom kept sliding off. No A/C, it was like a hot spa in the room. Very difficult to contact any employee after 10 pm, just be sure to tell them when you arrive. Pour quality or breakfast. Smala breakfast roll (only 2 tables). Very poor cleanliness ( dust under the bed, old packaging from previous clients under the bed, dirty sheets, no housekeeping done in 2 days). Staff was almost always never at the counter. Breakfast is super minimal, rooms are rather small. Not the cleanest under the beds. Poor quality toiletries. This is the most ever basic breakfast I had. Govanni (the owner name) instead of flittering with girls, spend more money on breakfast. no places to sit in the breakfast area. My room was quite small and furnished in dated items. other guests had larger rooms. Room was on 3rd floor and up narrow, steep stairs! breakfast was very limited. There was no T.V. in the room and no continental breakfast as advertised. We had to leave the window open for air which made it noisy. -breakfast starting at 8-8:30 -not very clean shower -not enough towels, at least put one for floor -got to hotel and entrance was locked, no reception -dangerous neighborhood, would not go out alone - carpeted floor felt dirty - thin walls - got cold at some point. We were on the second floor and room stayed cold through the night. The bathroom required serious remodeling. The shower head was broken and kept leaking throughout. The most annoying part of the stay was the fact that the windows were facing a night club and the noise was loud! This continued until like 3, 4 in the morning. Should invest in windows that block sound!. Arrived at previously discussed time and nobody there to open the front door as we stand in the cold for 20 minutes until another guest let us in. We had to call the owner and ask him to come check us in. Attitude wasn't very pleasant, arrogant. It is in the middle of the worst part of Montreal. Parking was additional and we will be much wiser in our future bookings. The location, it was not a good place for the price the worst hotel that i been at life. very desapoint.
