I like that it's spacious. We weren't cramped in a hotel room. It also has a full kitchen,so we could cook and save money. It's close to the Grand place; about a 10 minutes walk. Elisabeth was welcoming. She helped us with our luggage. She had some food items such as milk,bread, coffee,juice,olive oil etc to get us started. Whatever wasn't in the apartment that we needed, she got for us. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of clean towels and blankets in the closet. It's a great value.
all reviews » The Bed&Breakfast is located just of Sainte-Catherine in one of Brussels' most pleasant areas, very near the Metro station and an easy walk into the very centre. The room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and a thick carpet on the floor. There was a generous supply of water and equipment to make tea. The breakfasts were ample and taken in a room with an enormous collection of strip cartoon books, very Belgian. The hosts are very pleasant and come and chat every day. A good price-to-s. The B&B was in a quiet area of town (St. Catherine), but still walking distance to the Grand Palace (about 10 minutes away). The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate and our host offered to make fresh scrambled eggs. There are several good restaurants close by and our host helped make a reservation for us. There is also a tram stop very close by, which helped in transporting luggage to central station (2 stops away). B and B Fish Market is an excellent place to stay for a 2-7 night trip to the old city within Brussels. It is within a 10-minute walking distance of the old square with the touristy shops, museums, and restaurants. They are excellent hosts, and serve a delicious breakfast, and have lots of recommendations for those who have not visited Brussels. The shower is en suite, but the toilet is in the hallway 15 feet away. All very clean and up to date. Fantastic place, very good atmosphere, breakfast and friendly owners of the place. Felt like home, but with special touch of belgian design. Very central location, quiet surrounding, far from ghetto quarters. Very comfortable bed with a fantastic mattress - slept like in heaven! Very clean, smart, has a terrace by the dining room - good for having a breakfast in late spring and summer. I stayed in the nearby self-contained apartment. This is a little gem, very comfortable and quiet, fully-equipped, and stylishly furnished. Very near to great bars and restaurants and metro stations. Good internet, and lovely personal touches like fresh coffee, milk, juice and bread. Wonderful. the fish market was absolutely beautiful. an unassuming facade gave way to a truly wondrous interior; existing on a multitude of levels, the exacting and tasteful decor only surpassed by our host's warm and genuine nature. I cannot recommend this true gem more highly. Great location in easy walking distance from all the sights and public transport; lovely, clean, comfortable room; delicious breakfast; and wonderful hosts with lots of great advice. We loved staying here!. The location was great, and I cant say enough about the owner. She went out of her way to insure every need we had , was met. The food she suggested was amazing. And she provided an incredible breakfast. Perfect location for walking to great sights, restaurants, and shops. The apartment was perfectly appointed and so comfortable. We stayed at the apartment for 2 nights. It was great to have use of the spacious living area and the views of the nearby square were wonderful to wake up to. Everything was ok - comfortable bed, good breakfast, warm welcome. location, comfort, breakfast and staff are all excellent. The room was nice and big and clean. On the third floor with very steep stairs. No elevator. We had our 14 months old, so it wasn't comfortable carrying her up and down the stairs. We also has a stroller ,which wasn't easy to carry up and down too. Not recommended for those who would be challenged without elevators(lift). I was surprised that the room was not made up when I went out for the day. The toilet being outside the room. In the dark at night, it would be easy falling down the stairs to get to the toilet. We've had a toilet outside in a hall, but still had shower with washbasin with direct entrance from the room, so I can't really say it was something that distracted. Just for information, the initial approach down an alleyway is not promising, and access to the 3rd floor apartment is up steep, narrow stairs. It might not suit less mobile people of those with heavy bags. However, once inside, the lovely ambience and great views more than compensate. although we had en suit shower facilities, the toilet was in the corridor. The WC was outside the room, but it was not far away and was very clean. We stored our bikes in the downstairs alleyway which was not secure and our bikes were attempted to be stolen during our stay. It would have been good to know the apartment was on the 3rd floor prior to booking. To go to my bathroom (belonging only to one room) I have to get out of my room through the corridor. TV is tiny and outdated. There is no lift to the 3rd floor apartment. Bathroom is separate from the room. Toilet is outside the room - but there are only two rooms there and it was not a big inconvenience. On my reservation confirmation it stated that ''Public parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is not needed) and charges are applicable''. When I got there, the owner told me that he had nothing to do with parking, that I should try to find a spot on a nearby street and that he didn't know how much it cost. I did find a spot on the street and it cost 25 euros a day. This is information that could have easily been given to me beforehand.
