My best guesthouse experience! Attention - it's not a hotel, but a private mansion with wonderful rooms/appartments to rent - so don't expect a 24-h reception, but just discuss all you need with the owner Jamil. His amazing hospitality and readiness to make your stay unique + medieval fairy-tale house atmosphere with antique decorations and self-made furniture give a wonderful impression. all reviews » I had the White Room / Apartment which gave me my own kitchen area as well as two bedrooms and lounge. It was spacious, relaxed, and very much a home-from-home. When two friends were left without a hotel for their stay (they arrived to find their booked hotel was no longer operational) Mme Zenasni was very accommodating in allowing me to add the extra people to my room. Having the apartment (which is the top of the building) made my trip feel much more relaxed than in a hotel, and there wasn'. This was an amazing, fully restored Brugge townhouse. The owner and his restoration job have been featured in magazines. The accommodations were comfortable, breakfast was good, and the family who ran the place was gracious and friendly. We had a huge apartment at the top of the house to ourselves. The views from the kitchen looked out over the rooftops of the city. Wonderful. Djamil is a fantastic welcoming host. This beautiful home is close to central city and makes it easy to get around The breakfast was wonderful-a great selection offered daily in the beautiful dining room. We stayed in the Blue Room-this is a lovely spacious room-next time we would choose a room with the bathroom and toilet as an ensuite rather than on a separate floor. This inn is perfectly located a short stroll away from everything Bruges has to offer. The building itself is overflowing with character (the beautiful floors! The exposed wooden beams!) and Mr. Zenasni was an excellent host. Marked some spots of interest on a map for us and laid out such a lovely breakfast every morning. We just loved it here!. This was a fantastic building and was full of character. It felt warm and cosy and was very welcoming. The location is also great, you are in the heart of Bruges and within walking distance to all the main attractions. Breakfast was very good and had plenty to choose from. Very spacious rooms in an historic building. On a quiet street, it was only a 5 minute walk to the central square. Facilities included a washing machine and dryer. The location is fantastic ..... a short walk to everywhere. all was wonderful!. Our only criticism was that there were no basic supplies in the kitchen. It would have been nice if there were a few things (that won't go bad) available, like oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, etc. Could improve upon the bathroom toileteries: e.g. shower gel. Also no facilities to make a drink. There was no hot water one morning, but that was fixed within minutes after we told them of it. And the floors squeak, as if that wouldn't be expected... There was no ensuite. Our bathroom and separate toilet which was extremely tight ( and not recommended for anyone of size !) was outside the room down a flight of stairs. Not great if you get up in the night. No coffee / tea making facilities in the room . Although you could make a drink when you wanted downstairs . More pillows . Liked everything. The house itself has wooden floors so you can hear quite a lot. No facilities to make drinks. Brugge was cold and wet during our visit and our accommodation was very cold.
