I liked being on the ground floor (Room 1.) Room was all I needed. Good value for money. Very clean. Bed comfortable. WiFi arrangements (pay as you go) worked well. Breakfast arrangements suited me, morning papers, great. Reception and housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient. The proximity to the Mater hospital, easy walking distance. The young man at the reception was very polite, amiable, took an interest in why there. The room was bright and airy and clean. I loved the old charm ambience.

The website needs to be clearer with availability of parking and that you cannot access reception if you park in the back unless you have checked in. The parking was at times a little bit difficult to move my car in and out of depending on where other people had parked their cars. If there was an easier place to park cars that would be great. The bathroom door jamb made opening door into the bed area tricky. Nowhere to place toiletries. Privacy was an issue as there was a walkway directly outside our window. Rooms a little bit dated. Everything was as expected and we enjoyed our stay, thank you. Shared common wall with other guests. the fact that there was no toaster in the room. No complimentary bottled water in the fridge and i think the breakfast of cereal and toast should be included in the cost of the room. Little tired. Could do with a paint touch up. But no biggie. Wouldn't choose basic rooms at rear if liked a sleep-in as school kids noisy in morning.. but no probs for most as up & about by then. Biscuit with tea/coffee supplies would be nice!. Bathroom was small and quite dated, but everything still worked. The smell of cigarettes in the corridors - people smoking outside a door and not far enough away from the rooms. Rooms and Ensuites are pretty small but well useable. nothing we didnt like. Reception was meant to be open until 7 pm but the receptionist closed at 6.45 pm leaving my husband and I to arrange our own taxi to a function. I had previously told the receptionist that I would come down to order taxi as soon as we were dressed and ready. Hotel did not deliver our requests of rooms together or single beds for my children. The couches weren't clean. Parking options. The parking situations. Small room - unable to open door half way. But okay once in. the stairs,which are difficult with a suit case. nothing. Lots of noise from the room above us. needs a little maintenace to bathroom tiles. The window opened onto the breakfast area, although it wasn't noisy. Third bed.
