Just loved how close it was to the ferry terminal, made it so close to the city and Darling Harbour but no crazy crowds! The view was unbelievable, we dined (a gift) at the Rocks but chose an early sitting so that we could come back and enjoy the view. Loved the fact we could stroll through Wendy Whitely's beautiful, peaceful garden, what a bonus all that greenery framing our beautifiul harbour!! Our friends the Bromfield's recommended your hotel, I know they are always telling poeple the same.
all reviews » The location is fabulous. Beautiful view. The hotel is positioned almost on top of North Sydney railway station which is very convenient - we weren't disturbed by the odd rumble of a train passing outside. We stayed in a double room with a harbour view on the 12th floor. Staff were efficient and friendly. Room was very clean and fresh, well appointed, comfortable bed, can open the windows and capture the beautiful breeze off the harbour. Good size shower with plenty of hot water. Well sto. Everything was good. The room was on a high floor which we requested and everything we required was in the room. The staff were all friendly & very helpful. There was enough space in the room & we had a fabulous view of the harbour. Transport was very good with the train station underneath & the ferry down the street. Also close by were many restaurants for dining. Excellent location and wonderful views of Sydney Harbour. Parking facilities available and also close to public transport. Hotel is only a few minutes from the city of Sydney by train and one can also access the city by walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Staff were very professional and considerate, and the facilities were very clean and tidy. We have stayed in the Harbourview a few times and find it very convenient to transport and the city. The Harbourview Rooms are fantastic. Fabulous views along with a comfortably sized room. Restaurant and bar also very good but there are many restaurants and bars in walking distance too. Would highly recommend. The staff was great and so considerate at all times. The rooms were clean and the carpet seemed new and was very pleasant to arrive at the end of a long day to a nice, warm and clean place with a wonderful view! The other guests were considerate not noisy not parties etc so the babies slept through the night. We had a harbourview room and the view of Sydney harbour bridge and the harbour was very spectacular. North Sydney rail station is a few minutes walk away and just a few stops from central Sydney, or you can take a 30 minute walk to and over the harbour bridge from the hotel into town. 1. This hotel exceeds my expectations every time I stay there. loved the bed it was so comfortable and the views are amazing! Loved how it was walking distance to a lot of things we walked to the ferrys and got ferry over to circular key and Taronga zoo. $20 in cab to star city casino. taxi rank at front of motel and station next door. Million dollar views of Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Luna Park with a central location to transport, trains, buses and taxis right at your doorstep. I stayed at the right time with Vivid the Sydney Harbour Bridge looked magnificent with all the different bright colours. I recommend this hotel very highly. The location is great, there are several great bars within a 5-10 minute walk, plus the city is 2 stops on the train, or a 30 - 40 minute walk across the Harbour Bridge. Plus, the view from our room was stunning, just beautiful. I have stayed at the Harbourview now on several occasions. I love the location, its so easy to get to and and I love its proximity to the train. Love the view (of course). It's not pretentious, staff are lovely. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best beds I have slept in, in many years of staying in different hotels and motels. I had a very comfortable night's sleep, until those trains started blowing their horns early in the morning. Very pleasant staff, including the room service attendants. Excellent food in the restaurant and also room service. I was able to check in quite early in the morning, after travelling from the mid north coast, which was lovely. The value for money and how affordable it is for the location and view! The staff is extremely friendly, particularly a woman who checked us in. I cannot recall her name but she said she was from New Zealand. She was fantastic. It was our little children's first time away, so for them it was a true adventure! To have the view of the famous Sydney Harvbour bridge right outside our window...was such a buzz.Plus we got to cross it over and over again.... The view was amazing. The staff always had a smile and were there to help us whenever we need it. Taxi rank outside $22 to the cbd, North Sydney rail station underneath - $4.80 return fare - can't be faulted. The rooms, while compact, were comfortable and had lots of ambient light and big windows. Bathroom is quite small, had to leave the door open to use hair dryer. We are average size, so large people might find it a tight squeeze. There was nothing that we didn't like. Would like a 12 checkout rather yahn 11am. the beds were too soft for our liking but that is a matter of taste I guess more than anything as we are used to harder mattresses that offer more support. Not enough lifts available for guests. We found a beer bottle cap at the end of our bed which we didn't drink so the housekeeper most have not seen it when cleaning the room before we checked in but other than that the room was fairly clean. Even though we had a room on the 10th floor the noise from the trains was very evident.If you are a light sleeper then this may not be the hotel for you. The cost for wi fi usage was very high. The trains can be a bit noisy at times but it's a bit of a white noise after a while. Benefits of this hotel far outweigh the minor bother of train noise in some rooms. The shower was very poor. We got stuck in the lift on our way down! we were on the 14th floor had to wait 10 mins for lift and then got stuck in it! minimal parking. But otherwise a lovely stay. We were on 14th level and still heard the trains going under the building so I wouldn't like to stay any lower if you are a light sleeper. Over all I would definitely go back. Nothing - it was perfect. We have recommened friends who have stayed there who continue to rank the hotel as fantastic. I was told that parking was $20 per day. If you stay 5 days, that would be $100, so if you stay less than 24 hours, as I did, that should be $20, but they wanted to charge me $40, even though I spent less than 24 hours there, and was told that I would only be charged $20 the night when I checked in, yet in the morning they were adamant that I should pay $40, that was most annoying. Also, the train noise in the early morning was annoying, even though I was on one of the upper levels. I couldn't stay longer!. Being on the 13th floor there was nothing not to like...we loved it all....we felt very special indeed... Very soft bed but at home I have a very hard bed so I guess I'm being picky. Lower floor meant a lot of train and traffic noise, also the view was slightly spoiled by a large building and we had to look sideways to see the harbour properly. The cost of breakfast was a bit steep, we walked 2 mins up the road and got a similar meal option for half the price. The menu was a bit expensive and too fancy, simpler meals would have been nice as an option too for the bistro and room service. We ended up eating out. A mirror outside the bathroom would also be good and more coffee/sugar provided, was bare minimum only. From time to time we were conscious of the rumble of trains, but only spasmodically and even then the noise did not irritate. It was very disappointing being soooo noisy with the trains going right under the Hotel. Also the walls are very thin, you can hear everyone on your floor. It is a little noisy with the trains running under the hotel. It was a surprise that only valet Parking was available so if you don't want some else driving your new car you don't have any option. I think they took my car for a spin as all the seat adjustments were moved and the kilometers were up. Train rail work on the nights we were there was really noisy. Internet access was substandard with multiple disconnections my entire stay. Noise from the trains bothered me at times especially at 5 am. Airconditioning was hit and miss. Though often not necessary it would have been nicer for a little airflow. We stayed in room 904. The shower would have been great only the drain was a little slow and care was needed to make sure the water didn't overflow onto the bathroom floor. Nothing all great. We were placed on the side directly over the train tracks which were running till late at night. Very noisy traffic from freeway. Mini bar drink choices were poor. Windows looking out at view in desperate need of tlc as your view was Hazed with dirt. Occasional train rumbling through the night. $12.50 for one hour wi-if seems very excessive, and also $20 for overnight car parking. Nothing. Noise from trains below the building. The bed was too soft for me. We stayed on 2nd floor and train noise was noticeable- would request higher floor for future visits. The extras added up $20 parking per day Breakfast was relatively expensive as was the in room catering services. Also not enough elevators (long waiting time). the bed was a little soft for my husband 's liking. Breakfast menu was very expensive compared to the other menus so we went to Gloria Jeans for breakfast. Hourly rate for internet is just ridiculous.
