What people say
Anderledy Lodge, part of the Mary MacKillop complex, is small scale hotel nestled among trees and gardens near the centre of North Sydney. As a result it is quiet but close to the main roads and to North Sydney station. There are several high rise hotels nearby that I have stayed in in the past that were not as comfortable nor as quiet.
The price for a room is at the bottom end of the range, but I was pleasantly surprised by the large size of my room, with 2 single beds, lounge chairs, a small . all reviews »
The accommodation was simple and comfortable, there was plenty of space in the room which was cool on a hot day in Sydney! There were lovely little touches like a personalised greeting flyer with information about the property and I particularly liked the little Lint chocolate that was left as a treat. The garden and surrounds we're beautiful and very peaceful, just what I wanted as I needed time out for a few hours before heading to a party nearby. I didn't arrive back until very late at nig.
5 star servivce without the 5 star price.. Staff were amazingly friendly & helpful. Rooms were beyond adequate for an overnight stay or even an extended stay, I had a room that had shared bathroom facilities and it was not an issue - bathrooms were always immaculate and I never had to wait to use them Free breakfast is fantastic!! Location is perfect, 5 min walk down to train station, free secure car parking. Definitely would stay again..
I liked the quiet ambience and peacefulness of the court yards and
garden. The gardens are beautifully set out & maintained. I felt
separate from the noise and bustle which was just outside the walls in
downtown North Sydney - an oasis of peacefullness!.
Breakfast was great. Location was ideal, we walked over the bridge to circular quay but it is also very near North Sydney train station. Quiet location. Perfect if you want a clean place for a good nights sleep while in the city with free secure parking :).
I liked the location it was close for me to travel to my mother who was in hospital. The staff were friendly and helpful. I felt at peace and relaxed in my surroundings. It was good to have parking on site. It was clean and quiet.
Felt like an oasis in the busy-ness of a large city, away from the traffic whilst close to the city and public transport. Clean room and bathrooms. Waking up to the birds calling in the morning. Great breakfast and friendly staff.
The staff were very helpful, even walking me down the road to point out
where to go for a business meeting. The food was yummy and really good
value for money. I have recommended it to my parents who travel to
Australia regularly.
Well managed, quiet, gracious comfortable, safe place. Loved the included breakfast in the dining room and the choice of meals in the evening, if you want to stay in. It is so close to transport and the city center.
Beautiful setting and quiet location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, meals were excellent and the room and bed both very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it for business travellers such as myself.
Small but cosy room with everything you need, bathroom is shared but there are several and always spotless. Breakfast is included and very good. Laundry facilities can be use at no cost which is very convenient.
Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Everything I needed. Good location that was close to train station. Great value for money. I'd be keen to stay there again.
Rooms were very clean and immaculately presented. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent value and will stay there again. Just my little secret place now.
The sense of history connected with the Mary MacKillop.
The quiet well tender grounds and the cleanliness of the rooms and public inside areas.
Love the location, the place was enhance with the lovely gardens, secure and friendly. Made my experience of Sydney a positive experience.
Beautiful Location. Special Features: museum, church, tomb etc. Breakfast was awesome! Peaceful oasis in the city. A very special Place.
I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments expressed by Angela of Tura
Beach, Australia. For Sydney the price is commendable.
Right next to all of North Sydney's bus & train links. Very calm quiet area. Friendly helpful staff & free parking!.
Everything was great. Staff were friendly, checking in and out was fast and hassle free. Room was clean and well set out.
The hotel has a gorgeous garden and a fantastic peaceful aura. Our room was very spacious and a pleasure to stay in.
Great location and value for money. Lovely grounds and great security, excellent breakfast buffet.
the grounds were beautiful and it was very peaceful and quiet right in the middle of north sydney.
The quietness of the venue. It was peaceful with a lovely setting. Like an oasis in the city!.
after a hectic long haul flight i enjoyed the peace and tranquility that this place offered.
The quality and friedliness of the staff and the unique environment in the heart of a CBD.
Such a beautiful location, close to everything, facilities and grounds were fantastic!.
Clean and very good value for money. Off street car parking and
good location.
The hotel is quite, cut off from the city noise and bustle.
Breakfast was great.
particularly the juicer
staff helpful.
Very calm environment, very quiet at night
Friendly staff.
Peaceful, relaxing place and very close to Sydney CBD.
The bed was very comfortable, also breakfast was good.
Service and quality of breakfast. Setup environment.
breakfast included was very handy and good choices.
Old fashioned but reminded me of old daysc.
I really liked the peaceful atmosphere.
Peace and tranquility of this location.
Lovely, welcoming, simple, clean, place.
The convenience and the whole set up.
Quite & peacful location.
The garden, value for money.
Secure, clean,good price.
Private & peaceful.
Quiet and ambiance.
Fantastic.
location!.
Decent - but only by Australian standards. Most Europeans will find it expensive for what you get. That said, at least the WIFI is free - most Australian hotels still charge like wounded bulls for this.
Staff is friendly but mostly clueless.
Breakfast is excellent and the grounds are quite pretty. Kitchenette facilities - tea, coffee and biscuits are good.
Really good about leaving your luggage and spending time in the lounge/garden after check out.
Location is good for public transport. There.
very peaceful, genteel atmosphere, lovely old buildings; location close to all Nth Sydney offices; very clean; in many ways on passing thru the gate you enter another monastic type world;
nice people.
Great room- very comfortable with full amenities.
Would like to go for longer now that we have our bearings. Best by public transport, not own car.
It would have been nice to have bathroom facilities in my own room. Maybe a little bit more of a variety on the breakfast buffet.
Having to leave at the end of our holiday.
It was noisy from very early in the morning.
Nothing.
I would like a larger room with an in room bathroom. However having said that, I had a bathroom just next to my room and I hardly saw another person.
Not having longer time to stay in Sydney.
Resteraunt not open on the w/e. Share bathroom and room not kept clean. No beverage making facilities in the rooms.
On Sunday, 10th November, when the rush was on at breakfast time seats
were scarce and the tea and coffee machine ran out.
Nothing, everything was exceptional.
It would have been nice to have more choices of bread for breakfast. The hotel is located in North Sydney and would have access to great bakeries. Maybe it's something they could think about.
it did not have a mini fridge we bought or own 6 pack and food but had no refridgeration.
The café shut too early for me!!.
That our stay was just 2 nights....
Very religious overtones... You are definitely in a Catholic facility.
Ultra simple and small rooms but clean and quiet.
The fact that wifi was broken on the day I was there.
It was quite noisy, a shelf in the bathroom is needed, also the bathroom door had to be held open with a shoe to stop from slamming. In room tea/coffee making was advertised, not so.
hard mattress.
The mattress could have been better.
Not the best mattress. We had 2 singles together to make up a king, and it would have been more comfortable to have a better mattress topper or underlay.
Being woken in the very early hours by a truck and driver banging about very loudly, then talking loudly with another man. This was going on for 20-30 mins or so, and very, very disrespectful. Because it went for so long, and only stopped when I opened a window and called out for them to realise we were trying to sleep.. I could not get back to sleep afterward.
Confusion over the entry, address at Mount St did not lead to the car park which was not easy to find because of the one way streets. Staff were very helpful and provided a map.
The room you described for what I paid for was not the room I got! On checking with staff, the room I got was the correct price. Your description of the room I paid for was a suite which was more expensive. I wanted a room with a kitchen which I thought I was getting. Please ensure you correctly advertise the room & price.
No clear instruction for the car parking.
Should mention in the hotel introduction that car park should access from Williams Street and must entry via blue street.
Given Williams Street is one way.
The loud humming of an air-conditioner (not mine) all through the night.
None.
Poor communication - there's a restaurant but I wasn't told it closed at 8.00 pm and that booking is necessary. Last orders at 7.30 pm.
When the WIFI went down, nobody knew how to reboot. We had to wait until the next day.
This place is booked for conferences and these can book out the restaurant and the guest lounge. It can get noisy, so don't count on being able to sleep in of a morning.
On the whole it's a bit amateurish.
Garbage truck noise @ 6am in the morning;
No bar or gym
Pricing itself($175) close to 4 star hotels in the area but without gym, bar, lounge area if targeting business market; $150 per night would perhaps be more on the money
Strong religious overtones, did not worry me but others might be who are unaware.
The location - very hard to find while driving. Confusing address 7-11, but number 7 access was very different to the actual around the block and then a sharp turn into what was signposted as a one way lane. Parking an issue on weekdays.
