I enjoyed your friendly helpful staff , the staff member even rembered me and that I'm an artist , from my last stay , I was very impressed ... She was brilliant - I'm female in my 40s - so I liked seeing women my age behind the desk ... Good to see ! It was a really traditional hotel with old school values. Staff were really helpful and really friendly. The first day we were there there was a super drunk lady in the bar - she was a bit loud and a bit crazy but not really bothering anyone, I thought the staff handled the situation brilliantly - allowing her to finish her drink and quietly asking her to leave but letting her save face. Really professional. The location, with Botanic Gardens view, was excellent. Our room facilities were of a superior standard and comfort. We used the restaurant once for a breakfast deal, and once for dinner - both times very good. We were able to walk to all the attractions that interested us, such as Southside, Gardens, CBD, ferries etc., thus negating the need for a hire car. Given a park view over a city view ( which faces west) without asking for it. Nice. Staff knew we were attending a wedding and had printed off ferry times etc for us to cross the river to the ceremony. Rooms were quiet and dark which helped for a sleep in. Check-out time was 11 am not 10 am. The staff were friendly. Room was well presented. I love the teddy bears and the fact that you are in partnership to help raise money for RBWH foundation. Location was perfect for us to attend a night out at Q pac, go shopping and close to the water. PERFECT. The cleanliness of the room and the facilites available. The cleaning staff for my room was very friendly and efficient. I was also impressed with the efficiency of Room service and the friendliness and politeness of all the staff I had dealings with. Recently renovated rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Despite its age (I first stayed there in 1974) it is still a very good hotel by any standards and provides excellent value for money. Staff were obliging and couldn't have been more helpful. Proximity to Botanic Gardens, Riverside restaurants, and City shops. The front of the building and the entrance look very appealing - curved features. Two big double beds in twin room - lots of pillows. City views were nice for a change. The location is the best in Brisbane City. Price Location Staff upgraded us to a room overlooking Botanical Garden We had twin beds which were very comfortable. Very good pillows. We only stayed one night the staff were great I could not fault them even at 5 am in the morning when we left they we great. Service was good, and after I showed concern for our rooms apart the desk staff found us 2 rooms on a higher floor so all ok. PERFECT location for the riverside restaurants, wedding venues etc (Polo Club ) also shopping - all with in walking distance. close proximity to downtown commercial, business and shopping. refurbished rooms very nice and good value free brodband. The only issue we had was that their admin staff were slow to reverse two credit card swipes, after we had paid our a/c in full, such that we had to contact our bank to request the removal of the items from our credit card account. Very slow lifts. We were only there for 1 night!. Noise carries between the rooms through apparent lack of insulation. The parking should cost less - It is just an old covered garage with no inner access to the hotel - needed to walk up slope in the rain. Customers have no other choice of parking and feel somewhat exploited by that fact. I know inner city parking is EXTREMELY expensive, but am sure it would get more people coming back if you gave much cheaper parking. no complaints. No complaints. Only small things such as no tissues in the room. The maple syrup was imitation (Canadians are trained to spot the difference). The food in the restaurant was unfortunate in that one of the shrimp still had it's shell on and the steak that was supposed to be mid rare was blue. Breakfast is a bit expensive but we just went elsewhere as the hotel is very well located. When people close doors or are talking in the corridor, you can really hear it in the room. Nothing to speak of. Well you sending me this email again as I filled out your report when I left and paid the bill, also received an email thanking me for that ?? so why this again ?? As I said I was promised floor 10 when I called back to get key i was given floor 4 and told that's all that's left, minor thing, over all but ?. Nothing. Having to pay extra for parking. I didn't like having to pay $56 for 2 cars for one night. We booked 2 ajoining rooms early parked the car on return in arvo was told the rooms were on same floor but apart? Plus when booking the rooms on the net asked for agoining rooms but was told they don't see that side in house.?. Wardrobe hard to access 2nd door - difficult to use. nothing really. Pretty expensive for a descent hotel. But everyrhing in australia us pricey. Don't make a local phone call either if you don't want to get charged. liked every aspect of our stay. Cost of car parking-guests pay more than off street parkers!!. Should be better rates the longer you stay. Need two chairs per room instead of one chair and a chez-lounge. The weather!!!. It was a little tired in its appearance in some of the communal areas. Instant coffee only, car park cost, slight guest laundry noise. Not a skerrick of cover for the lepers of the 21st century (smokers). Not good when raining ( as it was). Lobby a bit tired. Car parking spaces too tight. A large majority of cars were big 4WD and take up a lot of space. staff were friendly but did not seem to remember me although I remembered them, not enough channels on TV, shower/bath is very aged and possibly dangerous for the less mobile. Nothing. Could hear quite a bit of noise through room walls and the cups in the room were dusty. Nothing. Hallways looking a bit tired and dated, need a revamp. Extra charge for parking $28. This is more to do with a personal phobia that I need to deal with ...... But have an issue with not being able to open a window - just a little bit to let fresh air in. Do you have any rooms available at all that have opening windows or balcony?. The temperature in the hotel lobby was way to hot To boil the kettle in the King Spa suite the kettle has to sit on the floor, its not in keeping with the standard of the suite.
